Dismissive, Rushed,
I’ve never had a worse medical appointment, ever. More interest in the computer notes and talking into the transcription recorder than me. Talked over me several times. Argued with me about a specialists report because she has a different opinion and it isn’t her area of expertise. Air of being beleaguered and bothered. Outright rude and disrespectful.

Worse doctor visit ever
I was scheduled to see Dr Shugal because my PCP was unavailable. Dr Shugal refused to listen to me or to my own explanation of my symptoms. She was dismissive, rude, and condescending. I don’t know how this woman is allowed to practice medicine. Avoid her at all costs.

A doctor I’ve been happy with 16 years
I’ve had the pleasure of having Dr. Shugol for 16 years. She is very honest and always will look out for the best for you. She had been very thorough with me and has been very helpful with any referral I need and always is genuinely concerned for my well being. I am thankful to have her as my primary care doctor.

Dismissive and uninformed
Provider was not informed about tick bites. We live in the northeast! They are prevalent. She was quick to say my symptoms were from a cold or flu.I had to insist my fever, neck pain and headache were NOT a cold or flu.She never even asked to see the bite which was reddened hot and swollen.I had to insist to get bloodwork titer ordered. Dismissive, poor bedside manner as well.

I switched to her around 10 or so years ago. She was yhe first medical professional to listen to me. She supported me through referrals and testing to finally identify what was going on with my body. She is straight to the point. Highly recommended

Do not see this provider.
She is the only provider in the practice taking new patients right now and it shows. When I went to see her, she completely invalidated me and did not listen to anything I had to say. I have extreme social anxiety and anxiety seeing doctors, and she made my first experience seeing a doctor since I was a child, a very awful one. She made me feel awful about my anxiety and not seeing doctors. She was cold, unhelpful, and rude.

I have had Dr. Shugol for over 6 years. She initially seemed to be a bit gruff, but she has become a wonderful doctor. She has her opinions and at the same time listens to her patients needs. She was very caring during my husbands illness with ALS. She wants to work with the patient; I feel good with decisions we make regarding my healthcare!

Useless, upsetting, and horrible interaction
Mercifully, Dr. Shugol is not my primary care doctor. However, I did have the displeasure of dealing with her as she was the on-call doctor over the weekend. I had just been in the ER, waited 7 hours there to be seen, was dealing with continued pain from situation, and the hospital was unable to conduct the scheduled tests I had been prepping for due to my current condition. I wanted to update the office and see what we could do to make me comfortable now and also how we can avoid this from happening again. Dr. Shugol didn't let me finish my sentences, interrupted every 5 seconds, and just kept throwing out random stuff like "sounds like you need to go back to the ER," "try taking aspirin," "try a heating pad," which made it even more clear that she wasn't listening. There is no point in talking to this person, the way she treats people who need help is absolutely appalling.

Good, caring physician.
Dr. Shugol has been my primary physician for several years. I have been very satisfied with her care. She does not coddle her patients, and expects her them to be a participant in their own healthcare and be personally responsible to the extent they are able. She doesn't mince words, this is true, but that is one of the things I appreciate about her. She is a good doctor.

It was my first time visiting Dr. Shugol today and she was the rudest person I have ever met. She told me that I shouldn’t be considered morbidly obese but then looked me up and down and said “you’re big but not that big”. Extremely inconsiderate and what a horrible thing to say to someone. She would barely let me answer her questions and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone and am surprised she is still practicing after reading these reviews.

I have a hard time going to the doctor due to my mental health struggles and doctors like Shugol make it even harder. She was distracted, dismissive, odd and cold...horrible bedside manner. I've had a hard time getting her to fill a prescription for a med I absolutely need and shouldn't go without, and her communication sucks. One major medical issue I needed to get an update on (MRI) was basically pointless. She gets the results back and tells me that seeing a specialist to discuss the results would be a waste of my time, despite having NO SOLID ANSWER for me as to what the cause of the issue could be. On my first visit I assumed I'd be getting a physical, like I have with every other new doctor I've seen in my life but...NOPE! She wanted a good enough reason as to why I was there so I threw out a couple of issues and now I have to come back later in the year for the physical. She was also very rude to my partner on his first visit too. What a waste of time, money and mental energy!

I was trying to talk to Dr Shugol and she was interrupting me, and constantly recording notes on the computer. How can someone with this toxic personality be allowed to practice medicine? I have read a lot of negative reviews and they're exactly what I experienced today. Shugol isn't my PCP, Patrick Fox is, but after today I am not returning there and will change my physician. I decided to give the place a chance, Dr Fox was ok, he wasn't too attentive of what I was saying, but at least he was professional and let me talk. Then I see Shugol and it's a train wreck of an experience. She wanted me to get paper work related to my hospitalizations..... from 2012, and she immediately diagnosed me with bipolar. She also gaslighted me into returning to taking medications that made me miserable. I gained weight and had trouble sleeping on my Benzos years ago, good to know she has no regard for the feelings of others.

This is continued from my previous review. 1000 characters wasn’t enough to explain my experience. After telling me I had bipolar disorder with very little basis, we went on to discuss substance abuse. I told her I use marijuana daily and she read in my medical history that I have used harder drugs in the past, but never to the point of dependence or addiction. She told me I needed to go to Fresh Start, which I assume is a sort of rehabilitation type group in my area. I have never had a doctor tell me that I needed to go to rehab for marijuana. That is simply ridiculous. The last unpleasant thing I wanted to mention was her judgement of my sexual history. She read in my medical history that at one point I had many sexual partners. She looked me up and down and said that was very bad. Completely unprofessional and made me feel judged and uncomfortable. Doctors are supposed to be non-judge mental and make you feel safe and comfortable, that was just not the case.

My first visit dr asked me to fill out paper work for “symptoms experienced in last 6 months” when she reviewed it she panicked, having not read over any of my medical history prior to the appointment, which was available to her, showing my current diagnosis. Every appointment she seems to be in panic mode causing a very uncomfortable visit for my self and staff involved. Although being so focused on updating her notes in my record she manages to forget recommendations, treatments, prescriptions from one appointment to the next, I assume due to NOT reviewing her own notes before seeing patients... She is unaware of major drug interactions/side effects and argues rather than researching it... Before choosing to be her patient I read reviews thinking no one takes time to write good reviews. I felt bad for her with what people said... but in no way could I recommend this dr. I gave her the benefit of doubt and regret it... surprised CH allows such a Dr to work for them.

My Experience???? It was BAD...very bad..... I left her office crying and feeling down. She didn't listen to me, she didn't even care about what i'm saying. I'm new in this country and i have a huge abdominal problem, i pulled out ALL my medical history for her.....and SHE DID NOT EVEN CARE about a thing i was saying, she was just focusing on the vaccines i've taken or not. She kept on interrupting me while i'm talking. And when i told her i have an important medical history to share with her, what did she told me???? "Sorry we have 40 min. here no more, you can come in another visit and discuss all what you need"!!!!!!!!!! I'm definitely transferring to another PCP.

I saw Dr Shugol once. I asked for a new patient visit, but the staff scheduled me for an urgent visit without my knowledge. I thought I was there for a new patient physical. I filled out the health questionnaire and had many concerns noted on it. Dr Shugol made it very clear I had too many health concerns to discuss at one visit. She was short with me, rude actually, didn't actually listen to me, but made assumptions quickly about my health issues and acted like I was foolish for thinking otherwise. I came from a frustrating prior PCP situation, but left the office crying and more frustrated than ever. I will NEVER go back to Dr Shugol. I have since found a lovely PCP that listens, is kind and very helpful!

Horrible experience. I was assigned to Shugol as my PCP but am in the process of finding a new, hopefully more humane, one. Shugol’s top priority seemed to be blaming me for my problems and expressing resentment that I had the nerve to ask her to help. I’ve never felt so blown off by a medical person from whom I sought assistance. Oh, and please be aware, she isn’t even a real medical doctor, but an osteopath. Read the other reviews and be advised.
