So blessed to have found Dr. Castilla. Warm, compassionate, knowledgeable and kind, including to my wife who joined me. She listens, and takes her time. I need a hernia repair and have no doubts I found the best surgeon for that. Office staff, especially Mary, are friendly and professional. Dr Castilla is current in her knowledge and expertise, using minimally invasive robotic hernia repair. I don’t really want to have anything done, but I have full trust in her to take good care of me since I do need the repair.

Post op visits billed as regular visits thus a co-pay....recently discussed problems post op DIRECTLY RELATED TO SURGERY. Billing insists must pay even though post op problem related to surgery. Why 90 day free post op if u discuss a post op problem but get charged office visit? RUDE BILLING STAFF!!

Very dedicated to patient care under an emergency situation of my gallbladder removal. The on call surgeon didn’t want to do an ultrasound before surgery. I had them call in Dr. Castilla instead to do the surgery and she made sure the ultrasound was done. Surgery went well and the follow up visit was also good. Very nice staff...a pleasant visit.

Dr Castilla removed my gall bladder via robotic surgery. It seemed “textbook”. She was professional, friendly, and no nonsense in her dealing with me, which I appreciated. I will be having her perform a hernia repair early next year and expect the same efficiency leading to quick recovery.

Charged $300 for a service that my insurance company tells me should have been covered. Referred my back to primary doc on continued issue that both primary doc and insurance co opine should have been by gastro specialist. Two appts cancelled by their office not too long before arrival time. Office staff fine until I asked for my records. Just not a good fit for me

Dr. Maria is very much a professional and personable surgeon. She is open to questions and pays many visits to her patients to make sure they are well informed and cared for. She took on my care after another surgeon had made mistakes in my surgery. She was willing to step up to the challenge. Thank you so much for your caring disposition and expertise.

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy with Dr. Castilla on 12/15/15 because of recent rectal bleeding. The day of the procedure she changed her mind and sent me to Bayfront Hospital Punta Gorda for a barium enema. Her reason was that I am too old (84 ) for a colonoscopy. The results showed no problems with the area tested. On 8/10/16 I had a colonoscopy by another doctor and he found a cancerous growth which needs to be removed at once. Too bad I lost 8 months before being properly diagnosed.

I met Dr Castilla while I was waiting for my wife who was in surgery. Even though she was not my wife's Dr, Dr Castilla took a few minutes and spoke with me. Dr Castilla performed a colonoscopy on me and even though she was not looking for any problems with my prostrate, she found that I had an enlarged and irregular. Dr Castilla may have just saved my life. Dr Castilla is through, personable and takes the time to answer questions. I highly recommend her.
