Best Doctor in over 20 years!
i have had type 2 diabetes for over 20 years, and have seen a number of endocrinologists in that time. Dr. Gutierrez has been the best by far. She takes a personal interest in her patient and relates the condition to the overall health situation. This doctor is up to date on new medications and treatments, and does not treat her patient by rote. i can unequivocally state that Dr. Gutierrez has given me a more positive result than any of my previous endocrinologists.

Fantastic Endocrinologist!
I've been a. Patient of hers for 10 years for my type 1 diabetes. She has helped me bring my diabetes under control with an insulin pump and a CGM. She is very busy but she takes the time to answer any questions I have. She gives excellent advice as well as training sessions with her diabetic nurses and manufacturers of insulin pumps and CGM devices. I don't know what I would do without her??

Dr. Maria Gutierrez is the best dr I've ever had
As someone who is very involved with my healthcare decisions (I research on my own, listen to podcasts, ASK a lot of questions), Dr. Gutierrez is refreshingly one of the few doctors who takes the time to listen, answer questions, and is up to speed on the latest science (or open to looking into something I may bring up that is not as mainstream yet). I honestly can't ask for a better doctor.

Went to my Quest Labs appt. only to discover once again no lab orders were transmitted to Quest. The Dr. & her staff assured me that this recurring problem would be resolved, yet once again there was no lab orders submitted.

An Excellent Doctor
Dr. Gutierrez is the third endocrinologist I have seen at this practice (the other two left -- one moved to Dubai). She is excellent and I have been very happy with my care. Many of the comments focus on problems getting through to staff by phone. It's true that it can be difficult to navigate the phone system, but I've found that by using the Patient Portal I get rapid assistance with anything I need. On two occasions, when I only expected a written response or a call from a staffer, Dr. Gutierrez phoned me herself. So -- both the practice as a whole and Dr. Gutierrez personally are caring and responsive, though you may need to use the Patient Portal rather than struggling with the "voice jail" phone system. The scheduling system works really well, and I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen.

Poor customer service from Staff/Nurses
My issue is not more so with the visits, because all I have not found a doctor yet that shows me they truly care, Gutierrez is a doctor that does more talking than listening to your concern. My issue is when needing assistance after the visits and having to go threw hoops to get help. I literally had to schedule a unnecessary phone appoint with her just so I can ask for documents to be faxed over to another doctor for a surgery. Her nurses never answer the phone nor do they return your phone call within 24-48hrs as stated on the answering machine. I have read many reviews about this same issue and I am aware that many people call with their needs but it seems as though no efforts are being put forth to correct these issues. I have even mentioned to her once that when I try to call her nurses never respond or call back but she just brushed it off like she didn't hear me say it. Her staff will eventually be the cause of her loss of clients, yes new one will come but will they stay?

New patient... if Dr. Maria doesn’t get a hold on her front desk, will end up with no patient. I called the office to schedule an appointment, was on hold for 15, prior from being transferred to voicemail several times. Had to go look for another doctor office.

I did not feel listened to nor did I feel like she managed my thyroid problems with care and attention. I had my thyroid removed after thyroid cancer and glad I got a second opinion as she wanted me to rush to radiation when it wasn’t needed. Also didn’t feel confident in her management of my meds and adjustment of levels.

Doctor is wonderful! Office staff is so bad that I may actually need to leave this wonderful doctor! No one ever answers the phone, no one returns messages, it is virtually impossible to get test results, not once have they provided information (e.g., test results) as promised, and this morning they quite literally sent me spam - the office manager was supposed to call me to 6 weeks ago to hear my concerns and still nothing....

She is very dedicated and spends time with her patients. She noticed a slight abnormality in my hemoglobin count and based on that I had a colonoscopy. She saved my life, as I had a very large mass that would have been full blown colon cancer in approximately 6 months

(Dr. Gutierez is the second Endocrinologist that I have seen.) I think that she is the best. Being a patient takes a lot of "patience," but it seems to be helping me quite a bit. I feel totally comfortable with her as a physician, she loves what she does, and it shows. Also, she has the most effective modern medicines which she prescribes.

Looking for a good Doctor is hard, but looking for a great one, well.. Look no further than Dr Maria Gutierrez. I was diagnosed with Hyper Thyroidism earlier this year. Having never really been sick, i felt like i was dying. I had such severe symptoms i didnt know what to do. Luckily i found Dr. Gutierrez. She started me on meds right away, helping me feel as good as possible til surgery. I now have had a successful surgery and am being treated full-time by Dr. Gutierrez. I found my Forever Dr.
