Dr. Maria Hunt, MD

I went to see Dr. Hunt for a UTI. After I described the symptoms she thought it was in fact a UTI. She proceeded to perform a vaginal exam that was extremely quick. She said we had to wait for the lab results to give me the proper medication. I developed a fever and felt really sick so I called her office several times to see if the results of the lab had come in but three days passed and no word from Dr. Hunt. Her staff were extremely rude and unprofessional every time I called and said I was in urgent need of medication. Finally after 3 days of suffering the symptoms I called and had to raise my voice. A nurse called and said that a prescription had been sent to the pharmacy after my appointment but nobody told me so and had me calling everyday and suffering. The staff at her office were extremely unprofessional and asked me to stop calling and hung up. Dr. Hunt called to apologize but what is an apology for after severe pain, 102 fever and being mistreated.

Dr Hunt was the on call doctor for my delivery at Overlook. During labor she was kind and supportive and I truly believe did everything in her power to help me deliver my son vaginally, however the labor ended in a c section because of his size. Once that was decided, I feel that I never heard from Dr Hunt again. The surgery was cold and traumatizing. No one told me anything behind the big blue curtain. I feel like I just became a body and not a vulnerable, scared mom to be. And because she was not my OB, there was a mix up between who was responsible for my PP care and I wasn't seen by a doctor in the hospital for over 36 hours. I was left stunned and unsupported in my unplanned c section experience with many questions unanswered. Dr Hunt was kind and patient until surgery. Not to say she was anything other than just no longer present emotionally or physically. I have a lot of residual complicated emotions because of this.

She was the worst doctor ever ...almost killed me after giving birth and I was sick and ended up with a really high fever she dismissed it. If it wasn't for my other doctor sent me to hospital Id be dead. Funny how when I filed a formal complaint it wasn't dismissed bc I didn't die... yet ended up in the hospital with sepsis for weeks!

I just had a total hysterectomy on Aug. 21, 2017 for a cancerous polyp found by Dr. Hunt. I know she saved my life!! She sent me for all the tests and the final test, a D & C was where it was found. It was a rare aggressive cancer called serous. If she didn't investigate it would have gone through the uterine wall and who knows where and almost certainly a death sentence once found.

Dr Hunt is great!! She performed my first c section and was so patient and kind through it all. Of course I was a nervous wreck. But all went very smoothly. She is very easy to talk too and always concerned.

Dr. Hunt was friendly and comforting especially since it was my first time to ever go to a gynocologist. Although she was great the staff was rude on the phone and in person more than one occasion. They had attitudes and have no patience when dealing with people.

Very friendly woman and I felt comfortable . I was an 18 year old girl who went to the gyno for the first time and it was way better than I expected . Friendly place.
