Excellent! Highly recommend!
Dr Adams is extremely knowledgeable and not afraid to reach out to other colleagues when needed. He consulted with another well known and respected neurosurgeon when he recognized the high complexity of my back problems. He could have forged thru with my surgery and given me maybe good or fair results. Instead, he referred me to a colleague in Jackson that had done more of these cases so that i would have the best possible outcome. I ended up with a two part surgery that required both vascular surgeon and neuro surgeon. I appreciated Dr Adams frankness and guidance - to allow me to have the best outcome. His utmost concern was for me. That is a rare quality in many surgeons today. Dr Adams will always be the one I reach out to and refer to.

staff sucks beyond imagination
I liked dr adams as a person for the full three mins I saw him. His staff is lazy, incompetent and truly show that they don't care about his patients. if you want to waste your time and be treated like trash , this is the right place for you.

No allowance for elderly patient
Drove over 3 hr round trip for an appointment, we’re directed to wrong office, got to a very crowded waiting room, waited behind a person filling out a form, when we got to the window we were told that since we were more than 15 minutes late we would have to reschedule. I explained that my 86 year old mother and I drove a long way and I would really appreciate it if we could make some accommodation; we would wait, since the waiting room was full we would wait until they were all seen, how could we make this work. The desk person said, nope, we shouldn’t have been late. He doesn’t do virtual consultations. Based on the amount of people in the waiting room there was no way, no way, we would have been seen within their 15 minute “late” window. My moms comment is, any office that inflexible with that rude of a staff can’t operate on her.

It was 2 months to get in to see him. I told him that why so long and would he would have to wait as long to get the shot. He promised a appointment time in no longer then 48 hours. Well we are still waiting almost 4 weeks later to hear about a appointment. I was told not to call again they would call me. I guess I do not understand why it taking so long to just make a appointment.

Dr. Adams performed a double laminectomy and bi level fusion on me in January for severe spinal stenosis. I had been in pain every day for nearly three years and it was gone almost immediately. I wish he could have done it sooner. My recovery has gone well and I am nearly finished with physical therapy now in August. I feel great. Thank you Dr. Adams.

I paid out of pocket for the office call, and drove 3 hrs. round trip after a 2 month wait. I was referred to him. But since I didn't have insurance I only got to speak with his nurse practitioner (minion). I really didn't expect to get anywhere from the beginning of the visit. But since I paid full price for the office visit he could have had the professional courtesy to tell me he couldn't help me himself. I guess he was still on the back 9. But when I pay full price to see the Rolling Stones, I expect them to show up, not just the warm up band. I guess he's too important to see patients himself.

I would not recommend Dr. Adams or his colleagues. You will need more than I have: two spinal X-rays, an EMG, a note from an internist, a referral from an eye surgeon and insurance approval for an MRI to see him or one of his colleagues. If you are comfortable with doctors who claim to be so wonderful they can’t spare five minutes to talk to you, keep trying to see them. I have six years of college myself and I know I can't risk a wait on severe headaches, numbness, dizzy spells and blurred vision any longer. These are stroke signs. I will go to an emergency room where I hope someone will care enough to help me. I do recommend Michigan Spine and Brain’s website. Very educational. Just know the services there are by invitation only. My experience with this clinic is suggestive of a clinic that cherry picks its patients and you may not be “good enough” for them to meet or talk with.

i wouldn't take my dog to this dr. stay away. i was lied to, they inferred i was drug seeking, i NEVER take narcs, was prescribed medication i'm allergic to in the hospital, no one spoke to me after the surgery. my neck is much worse after the fusion. was supposed to stay in the hosp overnite. was told to get a c-scan at my first checkup and when i got the order it was for a regular xray. i called to get confirmation, 10 days later and my doc to call to get the answer. i fired him right there.

This office has been a nightmare! To get a call back has been impossible. They have too many people doing different jobs who don't communicate with each other. Not sure if I want to have surgery with him due to his staff.! I have had 4 appointments with Doctor and have seen him 1 out of 4 times. 1 of theNP flat out told me(I will be back I dont do hips)i was there for Left me in the room for 10 minutes and then came back and told me I need a hip replaced!!! I never thought it was a hip issue!

My step dad had an appt. on a Monday. Me and rehab nurse both called the previous Friday to confirm the appt. and told "be here at 12pm for your 1pm appointment". NOTE: They are closed daily from 12- 1 for lunch! Sat outside the door (step father in a wheelchair) for 1 hour! Scheduled shunt then told he needed to see Dr. Adams for pre-surgery but couldn't get in until AFTER scheduled surgery date! Later told Dr. Adams wanted 2nd opinion then no surgery. Since then stepdad had stroke:(

Dr Adams is very personable however his staff is horrible. I have had to complain often to the office manager. The wait time to see him is horrible, I once waited for 4 hours to see him for about 10 minutes, due to triple booking of patients. I'm still in pain after 6+ years and there is, in his words, nothing more he can do. Won't refer to another Neurologist but did refer me to different PT's and finally a rehab-pain specialist, who did wonders in controlling my pain.

Decent surgeon, horrible bedside manner, arrogant, obviously patient load is more than one surgeon can handle. No sense of what (NNP, PA) are telling his patients. Office follow up marginal with orders for xrays not being sent after being told they were, follow up appointments that are cancelled for other reasons and a sense that his time is obviously more important than any of his patients. Only surgeon in area, good thing as he would lose patients.

Dr Adams opened my L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 & S1 to decompress stenosis, removing lamina, bulging disks, arthritis, spurs and detritus, completely cleaning damage from an auto double rollover. I awoke completely PAIN FREE. Compassionate expertise from a consummate professional. Words fail to express my gratitude for his God given, patient friendly care from beginning to end including follow-up visits. He has returned me to normal life. He & his staff care and are patient oriented. I highly endorse...
