Dr. Mark Bechtel, MD

I've been a patient for years! Dr. Bechtel is a true gem of his profession. Caring, intelligent and personable, just love him. His staff are always accommodating, empathetic and compassionate. So happy I found this wonderful specialist.

I’ve gone to Dr. Bechtel for about thirty years and found him to be extremely knowledgeable and very caring. Except for the short time when he moved to Philadelphia he has been the only dermatologist I’ve seen. He is definitely top rate.

When looking for a dermatologist, attention to detail, bedside manner, and thoroughness are key. Dr. Bechtel has been practicing dermatology from what would seem the advent of the field, and he not only knows everything about all things skin, but he knows every patient’s chart and skin, and with excellence and medical professionalism treats the skin as an organ that is fundamental to your overall health. He has diagnosed cancer and diseases, including those seemingly unrelated to dermatology, helped with the strange skin-presenting hormonal changes in pregnancy and saved babies, and is dedicated outside of his practice to providing healthcare to underserved communities. I truly love this doctor and will be very sad when he retires from practice. Any comment on his staff is irrelevant knowing that you have a doctor as knowledgeable and caring as Dr. Bechtel. It is worth any administrative hassle or time inconvenience in the day to day.

Dr. Bechtel took the time to listen when other doctors wouldn’t. He is kind, caring and attentive. He has been a Godsend!

Dr Bechtel is excellent. He very much cares about his patients. I have been seeing him for six plus years and have not one time been disappointed with him or his staff. He always responds to my questions and concerns within 24 hours and it is easy to get an appointment, if necessary. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a skin condition.

My first time seeing Dr. Bechtel was June 2022, and it was more pleasant than most doctors I have had to see. - Clean waiting room - Very lovely front desk person - The nurse that took me and my partner back was extremely nice, I hope I get them every time I visit in the future! - Nurse took time to get my history, and was kind and patient - I had to wait a hot minute to see Dr. Bechtel but when he was in the room I had his full and undivided attention. He was thorough, gentle where I was experiencing pain, and established trust before examining my skin. - Dr. Bechtel also included my partner in the conversation on my health and didn't just pretend she wasn't there. - He also prescribed me medication that was better than what my primary care offered, with less side effects!

Dr. Bechtel is awesome. First, I saw someone complain about his staff. I haven’t noticed an issue with them. But if you use MyChart he will get back to you. Second, yes he is quick but is thorough and he listens. Some people just move at a faster pace than others. I know I’m one of those people. If you need him he is there for you. He is a great dermatologist and has helped me much more than all the others I saw before him. I can not say enough good things about him. I’m picky with my doctors. I don’t need them to be my best friend. But I do I want someone who listens, is thorough, is compassionate to their patients and most of all helps me. If that’s all you want then he is the doc for you.

Dr. Bechtel is excellent. He is such a good listener. He has great expertise in his field.

I asked for him to call be about because I had issues with his staff and he did not even call or send me a message. Rate him a 0 and would never consider seeing him.

Dr. Bechtel was fine. He was quick, but thorough. The low review is for his office staff. It was my first time here. They were rude and dismissive. I waited longer for check in and check out than I was actually in the exam room. The office smelled. There was no collection of previous medical history. I might see Dr. Bechtel again. But not at this office.
