Very responsive
We were able to set up an appt, an X-ray, schedule an MRI along with a follow up appt all within a week’s time. Additionally, we have surgery scheduled within 2 weeks of diagnosis. So impressed with Dr Dean and his entire staff to be not only helpful but compassionate and understanding.

Dr. Dean repaired my shoulder, which is now in perfect condition. He is very professional, a good bedside manner, and walked through the MRI with me in detail. I highly recommend him. He has a stellar reputation. His staff was also very professional.

Dr. Dean replaced both a knee and a shoulder for me. Both surgeries were very well done, I recovered very quickly and much stronger than before surgery. He explains things very carefully and is very happy to answer questions. He does not rush his patients.

Apparently quite competent (my impression). After first visit and x-ray, he refused to see me again when my pain worsened - after telling me to call if things got worse. My medicare advantage plan - although they paid him for my original visit - was not to his liking. Lacks compassion and professionalism. I was told by office manager, "You should have taken the shot in the first place."

After an acute injury, I referred to this physician by the local emergency department but I never saw him. I was instead seen ONLY by a rude and paternalistic physician's assistant. While sitting in the waiting areas, one can overhear disrespectful and disparaging staff comments about patients they do not like.

Dr Dean did a rotator cuff repair, knee arthroscopy and shoulder replacement for me. He's very caring , conservative and popular! His staff are great. He really makes it his business to get us back to doing what we enjoy particularly golf for me but all sports .

He is very friendly and professional. He did a great job with my revision total knee replacement Surgery! I had a very good experience at Beaufort Memorial hospital. The hospital has its own center for just orthopaedics. He does the traditional total knee replacement, because he has had better results than robotic method. I trust him very much and recommend him. I'm back on the golf course!

The finest doctor on Hilton Head Island. After having surgery on my elbows twice in the past with absolutely nothing but excellent results, I took my mother who is 90 years old to visit with him regarding what she felt where problems with a knee replacement. After carefully listening to her and examining her, he determined the problem was not her knee but a pinched nerve in her back -- which he will be confirming by MRI. He is a great listener and a caring doctor. I trust him completely.

I would NOT recommend this Doctor due to his lack of follow up. He left me with the perception that once the surgery was complete, everything was perfectly fine...which is not the case. I am having to follow up with another surgeon.
