My experience with Dr. Gotfryd was very humiliating . After he diagnosed me with my issue and reviewed my medication that I was taking which included medicine for inflammation and over the counter Ibuprofen occasionally he assumed that I was going to ask him for pain medicine. When I told him that I had osteoarthritis and my Orthopedic Doctor had only prescribed pain medicine once out of 10 years he told me that I could get addicted to pain medicine when I had not asked for any pain medicine. He also brought me a sheet with some exercises to do because he said most people in Center Point could not afford to take therapy. I felt like he was stigmatizing me because he knew absolutely nothing about me. The only reason I went to him is because my Podiatrist whom I am well pleased with was booked to capacity. I cancelled my follow up appointment and now I am willing to be in pain for another month to wait on Dr. Agee who has never humiliated me. When I called back to tell the receptionist t

Had seconds thoughts, but turned out ok
Gotta be honest after I saw a few reviews I almost canceled, but went in. The Center point office needed a make over. The receptionist was friendly and got me signed up quickly. Dr. Gotfryd was actually friendly checked out my feet. He explained to me his diagnosis. I am dehydrated and my AC one is too high. I was the first one there and did not feel rushed. I had never to a podiatrist in my 70 years but found my experience good.

He is very rude. He did not want to answer questions or discuss. Just wanted to dictate. Felt like he wants you in and out as quickly as possible. He actually told me that I thought I knew better than him. Terrible.

I called the Hoover Office of Dr. Gotfryd's practice on Monday, 1/30/2019 in the A.M. and I was told to come in and they would see me concerning my ingrown toe nail. I had already called two other Podiatrist's with no luck because of the Holidays. Dr. Gotfryd took great care of my infected ingrown toe nail right away. This was the second time he took great care of me when I was in pain with an ingrown toe nail. Thank you so much Dr. Gotfryd. Also, a big thank you to your helpful and knowledgeable front office lady.

Gotfryd used dry gauze on the wound for my large toenail he removed and when I could not soak the gauze off, I asked for an appt to numb and remove the embedded gauze so it wouldn't get infected. He responded that he would rip it off, but numbing wasn't a "covered service" and I would need to go to an urgent care or ER. During my visit, Gotfryd talked about what good insurance I had... what doctor has time to know about your insurance coverage?! He is a hireling, goofy, & felt like the Sopranos. Any smart Dr. would do damage control when things go wrong... this one does not care about his patients!! $$$ (His aftercare directions were clearly composed/typed by a 10 year old.)

I will no longer use Gotfryd Podiatry for myself or my family. This morning, collecting the "amount of money to meet my yearly deductible from Medicare" was much more important than addressing the serious pain with my feet. I had been to UAB the day before and I had paid my co pay with NO mention of a deductible. I have had several other Dr visits lately without being asked to pay more than my co-pay, I have been a patient of this office for many years. I guess that counts for nothing.
