Dr. Mark Hsu, MD

Dr. Hsu and nurse staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. My vasectomy went smoothly and he personally followed up post-op several times. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Dr.Hsu is one of my favorite Doctors and believe me I have seen a lot of Doctors. He will go the extra mile to make sure you know what is the best course for you to follow. His staff is the best and will go out of their way to find out how your doing. So if your having problems and need to see a urologist he should be the first Doctor you should call.

I was reading the most recent review and I completely disagree with it. I came to see Dr. Hsu with my dad for his prostate issue and we were so impressed! Dr. Hsu was very thorough when explaining things to us and listened carefully when we were expressing our concerns. He addressed each our concerns patiently and we talked about viable solutions. Unlike some of the other urologists we've seen, Dr. Hsu was an attentive listener who took notes of what the patient was saying. We really felt like he understood our needs and was working with us to help our problems. We were impressed he remembered the small details from the previous visit. This really shows how meticulous he is and how much he cares about his patients. As a plus, Dr. Hsu also speaks Chinese and Spanish fluently. I was impressed with some of the medical terminology he used in Chinese to explain things for my dad who does not speak English well. I also heard from his nurses that he speaks Spanish even better!

This arrogant chinese doctor has no time nor interest to listen to my problems/symptoms. Forget about taken care of my health, I felt totally being disrespected and ignored. Worst experience seeing a doctor my life. Don’t waste your time. I will give zero star if I can.

Recommended! Loved having Dr. Hsu as my urologist at FCPP in Modesto. He took time to discuss my circumstances and treatment options. I felt confident in his care and knew that he advocated for my long term health.

I would not recommend Dr. Hsu. I was in pain trying to pass a 6mm kidney stone, I spent two days and nights in the hospital and I still could not get an appointment with him for six weeks. When I did see him in his office for a consultation he booked me for surgery another six weeks out. The week before my scheduled surgery his office called to postpone my surgery another two weeks. I found another Urologist and my surgery was done within the week!

Dr Shu is an excellent doctor! He spends time with you and answers your questions and concerns! I would highly recommend him!

Dr Hsu is very good but two flaws with medical service. He is available in Modesto office only part-time due to his out of Modesto office work schedule. Communication slows down accordingly awaiting his overview. Nurse support staff are kind but inconsistent and unsatisfactorily slow in returning calls in part due to waiting for Dr. Hsu to be in office to provide decision direction. Can take more than a day to return phone calls for appointments, medical information (lab result, meds, etc.)

First appointment with him. He came in totally prepared for the visit, having read my file prior to meeting me. Explained information in a clear and precise way. Did not try and rush the appointment, taking time to listen to me,

This was my First visit with Dr. Hsu. We hit it off right away, we each pronounced our last names correctly.I had to ask a nurse how his name was pronounced!

Dr. Hsu was courteous and seemed to be quite competent. Getting the upcoming surgery along with the removal of the nephrostomy tube scheduled has been a huge hassle. Recommendations for his office would be hard to do.
