I have worked in the medical field for over 18 years as a medical interpreter, as such not only did I see the doctors examining their patients, but also was present during the procedures in the OR. Mark has by far the best technique I ever saw on any eye surgeon and I saw hundreds of procedures with dozens of surgeons. Because he is so good and because he is overbooked on a daily basis the wait to see him can be several ours, so bring a book.

I have been seeing Dr Kuperwaser for several decades now and throughout he has been considerate, thorough, takes the time needed, answered all my questions, given sound recommendations and is a personable straight talker who will take the time to explain. I have always felt treated like an individual with him, not just the next body that walks through. And he isn't "surgery happy" as I find some other Drs./Surgeons these days. Several years ago he immediately diagnosed an unusual situation I had developed following spinal surgery that other Dr's hadn't picked up on. Yes there is often a wait to see him as he is busy and gives folks the time needed, just bring a book or your mobile device, he's worth the wait.

The doctor is a renowned eye surgeon and deservedly so. However, be prepared to wait in his office for 3-4 hours to see him (this has happened to me 3 out of 3 times). He is a gregarious and friendly person, and will spend time explaining things. If you are a vanilla glaucoma patient like me (under control with drops), you might be better off with a clinic that is not so overbooked. If you need complex surgery, he's a good choice, but be patient.

Dr. Kuperwaser is very knowledgeable and personable and has a good sense of humor. He explains things to my satisfaction and if I don't understand the first time and ask questions he clarifies. He does seem to be overbooked sometimes which makes it seem like he's a bit rushed. His assistant is also great and very thorough. I have recommended him to family and friends.
