Dr. Mark McInnis, MD

I suffer from a spinal injury incurred years ago, and have lived with it for many years. Aggravated the situation on a Friday afternoon suffered through the weekend, then tried to book appointment to see my Neurosurgeon. Go luck with that, right! I needed relief and radiography to confirm what was going on in my spine. This New facility in Covington has everything you need for acute care, walked in on Monday around 2:00, Dr Mcinnis was assigned and by 5:30, I'd been worked up with both X-rays and MRI - everything reviewed by a Radiologist. Dr Mcinnis has a great ability to listen understand the situation, evaluate the best course of action for your care continuum. He acted quickly and treated me with everything available at his disposal and prescribed needed medications to get me through the holiday week before seeing my surgeon. I completely recommend the Covington Trace ER and if your lucky Dr Mcinnis will be in rotation - Thanks Dr Mcinnis and Trace ER Team!

Great dr. Explains things so an every day person can understand

We are hoping we are leaving this review for the right doctor. My husband had to go to the ER for an abrupt bleed in his eye. Dr. McInnis was the ER doctor on call at Iberia Medical Center. Having to go to the hospital is always something that fills you with dread because you never know how the visit is going to go. But Dr. McInnis was the epitome of patience, compassion, and consideration. He answered all of our questions, of which we had many, and did so kindly and didn't make us feel like a bother. He was compassionate about my husband's situation and even apologized for our wait, and we know there were likely patients there with more serious things. He was so kind and nice, it was like meeting someone that we had known for a long time, so very down to-earth. And he knew what he was doing and wasn't afraid to ask for another physician's opinion on anything that gave him pause, so he also had humility. Truly, this physician is the best ER doctor we've ever had the privilege to meet.

Thorough & compassionate; listened to me and my husband all the while looking at cognitive and physical responses to truly get a total picture of what might be happening. Helped identify I was possibly having a partial complex seizure and has referred me to a neurologist for follow-up. Wonderful asset to Hancock Oshsner hospital.

Fainted and went to Ochsner Hancock. Initial thought at ER was dehydration. Dr. McInnis tracked down a Pulmonary Embolism, of which I had none of the typical symptoms. It's quite possible he saved life.
