Excellence...
Dr. Mark Moody was well-prepared at my pre-surgical visits, having reviewed my referral and tests, and was able to answer my questions. He was a great listener and was gracious. I had two prior back surgeries before he met me, and he has evidently done a fantastic job, with some results evidenced immediately, and after 3 months, I experience hardly any pain, especially in the area he worked on performing corrective surgery, fusions and he replaced hardware. My friends, family, and community have remarked how well I look, I look renewed and stand straighter are some of the comments that I have received.I am thankful that he is so skilled and tenacious. Great job!

Great doctor Excellent person
Dr. Moody is undoubtedly my favorite surgeon I've ever had. His bedside manner was comforting and he and his staff took excellent care of me at the office and in the hospital. I have had a bit of surgery in my lifetime and I wasn't scared, for the first time. I completely trust him and his judgement.

In the last year, Dr. Moody performed 2 major surgeries for my back pain after I had been almost bedridden since 2013. He is very professional yet personable & also listened to my concerns. I can't thank him enough for giving me my life back & getting me back on my feet. I know it'll be a long road but I didn't get this way overnight & I don't expect to recover overnight. He is thorough & his staff is very professional & friendly. I had an issue w/edema @ a surgical site & his nurse gave me her personal cell phone number for me to text pictures of the area in order for this to be addressed asap by Dr. Moody (I live 1 1/2 hr from Asheville)...now that's care & compassion right there! He appears to love what he does which makes him that much more of an excellent surgeon because his heart is in it. He has a wonderful bedside manner & was reassuring before, during & after my surgeries as well as being straight up. I would recommend him to anyone! THANK YOU SO MUCH, DR. MOODY!

I must preface this review by giving the reader my perspective. I come from a family of doctors and medical practitioners. I have worked in a major teaching hospital and managed doctors' offices. I care very much for doctors and their associates and understand the challenges and stress they face daily. Most are caring, compassionate, and giving people who truly want the best for their patients. This is why I am saddened to have to leave such a bad review on Dr. Moody. If you don't care to read the details of my experience then please consider what I am summing up here: Anyone considering surgery with Dr. Moody, please do your homework. Get second, third or even fourth opinions. Talk to as many people as possible that have had experience with this doctor. Hopefully you’ll get the kind of information you need to make the best decision for your situation. On the day of my initial appointment with Dr. Moody, I waited over an hour in the hot, stuffy and crowded waiting area before I was

Thank you Dr. Moody for giving me back a pain free quality of life. Dr. Moody and his PA, John O'Connell, were amazing! I had a newer procedure done. It was a Oblique, Anterior 1 level fusion of my L3, L4. I'm 40 years old and was very scared to have back surgery, but Dr. Moody answered all of my questions prior to surgery. Which helped ease my husband and my mind of knowing I was doing the right thing by proceeding with surgery. The oblique approach was to be easier on the patient and less invasive. I completely agree and highly recommend this procedure. Dr. Moody was very knowledgeable about my condition and made sure I was kept comfortable after surgery. John took excellent care of me during my post op apt.'s. I have healed great and have returned back to full time work at 16 weeks post op. I would recommend Dr. Moody and staff to everyone.

Dr. Moody was very knowledgeable about my condition and took great strides to make sure I was kept comfortable after surgery. I fused quickly and have healed great from back surgery. Dr. Moody was very patient with the fact that I had multiple other medical conditions that made my recovery process more difficult than most, but he was willing to go the extra mile to assure that I had the best possible outcome. He will be my choice when the time comes for other spinal corrections.

After waiting a long time for an appointment, and then over an hour to see him, Dr. Moody spent less than 5 minutes with me. He had no idea why I was there, looked at an MRI scan, asked me to walk to the table, and then said, "you move fine, you're obviously not in any pain" and left the room. Not only was he rude and abrupt, he never introduced himself when he walked into the room, and he was wrong! I'm about to get scheduled for spine surgery.

After suffering from lower back, sciatica joint, groin, leg & foot pain past 4 months & a recommendation from my physical therapist to find a neuro spine specialist, research pointed me to Carolina Spine & Neuro Surgery Center in Asheville. Although I live more than an hour away, I did not hesitate in making an appt. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and encouraging. Dr. Moody was a prayer answered. Surgery was scheduled in the same week. Once done all my previous pain was/is gone.
