Hard pass
I was sent here by my Doctor as a follow up to a home sleep study. Dr Rasmus made me feel rushed by not allowing me to fully express my thoughts or even answer his questions. He got genuinely hostile when I didn’t immediately agree that I needed to dive deeper into what’s causing my sleep trouble. He felt the need to draw a curved line and tell me how people who sleep too much die younger. (All while I tell him I sleep very little unmedicated) Then scoffed at my question and offered to pull out a medical book to prove me wrong. He didn’t trust my experiences or opinion on what I’m dealing with. It was awful. I think he hates women or at the very least anyone who has questions about his treatment plans. I’ve never left an appointment feeling more untrusting of medical doctors. This man is supposed to want to help people. If you don’t agree with me at least be patient enough to try and help me understand. He felt like an unkind man with little to no patience or caring in him.

He was very arrogant and wouldn’t give me an exam because I haven’t taken the poke for corona! Wonder if he charged insurance for an exam? Very rushed and wouldn’t take the time to listen to my answers to his questions. He’s very unprofessional!!!! I’m starting over with a new doctor as I don’t trust this guys opinion! I would give him 0 stars instead of 1 if available!

I have always appreciated Dr. Rasmus because not only is he very knowledgeable, he also gets to the point quickly. Given his background and depth of study, his advice has always been appreciated. My wife has accompanied me on several visits, and she feels the same way.

Had sleep issues and also have a child with sleep apnea. Referred to Dr. Rasmus. Worst relational doctor in Idaho. As a patient bedside manner counts. This doctor is condescending, critical, and hostile. We all likely contribute in some way to our health conditions, as we are stressed out, work too much, and deal with life in multiple ways. What nobody needs is criticism without answers or unfounded statements. I was shocked to see Dr. Rasmus listed as an "Independent Doctor" on Independentdocsid.com, as he is associated with Saltzer. I thought my experience with his was unique, but I have a sister-in-law who took her child in, and the doctor criticized her parenting. And, overall his rating is low, and rightfully so.

Abrupt and conclusive on first visit after sleep study. I was told that I thrashed around while sleeping and needed a blood test for low iron. I told him I had high iron and donated blood to lower it. He covered the sleep study so fast and didn’t share a copy of the information to read along. Passed on to a PA after several initial visits. Put me in a Fisher Paykel CPAP several times over 10 years. Non repairable when it failed and was a run around with Medicare to get a new ResMed dependable CPAP. I was given Rx Mirapex until my Rx provider switched me to cheaper, Ropinirole. He told me that the only reason for Mirapex Rx was that they gave him free samples to dispense to patients. Subsequent visits were also rushed and never shared a copy of test results with his patients. PA does give patients a copy of machine results at this date. Since I only have an annual appointment and see a PA, I would rate the clinic a “5”.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rasmus and his sleep clinic for 16 months now. I had been using a bipap machine for 15 years and on supplemental oxygen for about 4 years. Medicare wanted a follow up re use of the 02. Underwent a sleep study that Dr. Rasmus felt the need for supplemental 02 was questionable plus was concerned I had in addition to obstructive apnea that there was likely a significant component of central apnea. Following a 2nd study the presence of central apnea was significant and in fact with the use of a more advanced machine (ASV vpap) the use of 02 was stopped. My visits with Dr. Rasmus were great. He was very easy to talk to, and readily answered any questions I had. His office staff and sleep center staff are really nice and very professional.

He was just a jerk. Wouldn't listen. He didn't know I was here for a follow up consultation on a sleep study that he evaluated. I took off work and paid another copay for stuff that a receptionist could have done over the phone.

Was rude because he didn’t like my attitude. Said he didn’t care whether I came back or not. If I didn’t return, he would send notification to DMV to have my license revoked

I have seen Dr. Rasmus five times. There has never been a visit that he didn't berate me, doubt the facts I gave him about my health, or act dismissive and arrogant. I leave his office feeling that my being able to breathe and keep an acceptable oxygen saturation rate is a joke to him. I am definitely looking for a new doctor.

This physician has no understanding of applying population statistics to an individual in clinical practice. He has no clue how to take a medical history. He will tell you your wrong and he is right before hearing one’s history. A first year medical student knows that a thorough history is important to a proper diagnosis. He is a terrible clinician and scientist and lacks any people skills. He should not be in clinical practice.

Dr Rasmus was confrontational and insulting. Since I didn’t follow his advise to the letter he challenged and berated me. He then tried to force me to choose his brand of cpap and get supplies from his select small clinic. I suspect he has financial interest in both and refused on both which was met with obvious disdain. I will never return and suggest you reconsider as well.

This was a terrible experience. If you want a bunch of expensive tests and a C-PAP then you can certainly find that here. Any other form of treatment or help, forget it. He'll even charge an additional fee to "look at data" after your tests. Normally that's called a follow-up visit but here there's a separate charge for that too. Oh, and don't assume that "looking at the data" is going to change the recommended course of treatment. It's going to be a C-PAP.
