Dr. Mark Varallo, DO

I had a few visits between 18 and 20.5 years of age. I expressed my concerns that I had PCOS and why I thought so. Instead of looking into my specific concerns further with labwork, he dismissed them by unprofessionally suggesting that I just needed to lose weight, and that I was also too young for such a diagnosis. I sought a second opinion for PCOS without delay once I knew he would go no further with any workup, only to find that my concerns were justified. I was indeed diagnosed with PCOS very soon afterwards based upon symptoms and abnormal labwork.

All I needed was some simple referrals and prescription refills since I had a change in insurance, and instead I was forced to attend a useless intake appointment where Dr. Varallo refused to answer any of my questions and was dismissive of my concerns. Then, I was told I needed to get lab work done and schedule a follow up a week later. The morning of the follow up, I was abruptly cancelled on since Dr. Varallo was “out of office” and apparently couldn’t take a telehealth appointment he had scheduled two weeks prior or have the decency to notify me more than an hour in advance. To make things worse, he was booked up through the end of the month, and the receptionist couldn’t reschedule with another provider. If you’re looking for prompt and effective healthcare, this is NOT the place you’ll find it.

This doctor is so rude and arrogant, everytime I've seen him thankfully has been over virtual visit. Everytime, he belittles me and disrespects me by calling me Kiddo and ignoring my boundaries about it. A doctors visit shouldn't be leaving you in tears unless you're given a scary diagnosis. Also cares more about filling out referral forms rather than doing his job and having a conversation. Bad bad bad never again. Why is he even practicing still, with all these bad reviews??

This has been one of my worst experiences with a doctor in my life. He brushed off everything i was telling him and finally ended up prescribing me a medication to help with my symptoms ON FEBRUARY 4TH 2023 and it’s been almost 5 months of me calling every month and the pharmacy sending in 7-10 requests for a prior authorization so my insurance can approve it and nothing has been sent. I am left without a medication that I need and i’m already seeing the effects of not having it. I was also pre-diabetic at one point and me having this medication is a very pressing issue that could have horrible health implications. This has all been communicated to him and his team many times. Dealing with him has literally been awful and this guy doesn’t seem to care about his patients enough to send in ONE FORM for almost 5 months. I wish i wasn’t poor so i wouldn’t have to rely on doctors like these. highly do not recommend and actually i recommend you run for the hills.

Dr Lock, is easy to communicate with, knowledgeable and willing to listen to the patient. Pays attention to detail.

As he walked in the room he said I'm too young to have back pain. (I'm 40) . He didn't let me finish explaining my symptoms before sending me to give a urine sample. When he returns to the room to tell me my urine is clean. I wanted to finish explaining my symptoms and he sat down shrugging his shoulders and sighing out loud rolling his eyes. I started to explain my symptoms and he asked me who my doctor was and I told him I seen him last. I wanted to discuss further my last test results and he said I should just wait until I see the gynecologist next week and tell her about my back pain. She could order an ultrasound. He was bothered I even asked. He pat me on my back after introducing me to her with a very sarcastic attitude. ( Even the gynecologist was looking at him funny). I'm in a lot of pain. There's never been such a horrible doctor I've dealt with in my life! Please don't see him if you have any health concerns. He will ignore and rudely send you on out.

Rushes thru appointments, doesn't listen to your questions, very typical to most HMO Doctors. I wouldn't recommend.

I have been seening Dr. Mark Varallo for years and he always sits down and listens to what I have to say, he definitley cares about his patients. Highly recommend Dr. Varallo

The rudest doctor ever!!! Yelled at my mom to get off her phone and spent less than a minute with her. Didn't even examine her.

My grandmother is seen by him for years and Dr. Varelo is rude and has neglected her symptoms. He is constantly making mistakes with her medication and blames US when it happens even when he has the medical history. We will place a complaint for negligence.

If I could do a negative star, I would. He is the worst doctor I've ever seen!! He DOES NOT listen to his patients, he DOES NOT care about his patients, you can tell he does not like to do any work. This doctor was very rude, very lazy and not professional. This was my first time seeing him, he did not introduce himself and he didn't even sit down. He just stood by the door and tried to get me out the room within the first 2 minutes. I don't understand how the office he works at even still has him as a doctor.

Unprofessional, rude and obnoxious

Hi doesn’t listen to you ,very rude ,you can tell he doesn’t like his job.

This is my first time leaving a review for a doctor. But I cannot believe the way I was treated. I went in for a physical, but mainly concerned about my weight. I’ve been VERY strict on myself but Dr. Varallo assumed (based on my weight) that I “am cheating and having too many carbs” I told him I cut them out in which he replied “no, no you’re not.” He didn’t even let me ask anymore questions as he was already half way out the door. I was left in tears! No compassion whatsover!

He does not take time with his patients at all. He always seems to be in a rush. Whenever we point out a problem...he brushes it off and says “you’re fine” when I know I’m not. He made fun of my kids wearing masks because there were patients in the waiting room coughing. Not professional at all. Doesn’t take time with his patients and doesn’t show compassion at all. Seems like he just wants to get done and on to the next one.

The reviews here are right. This doctor has NO COMPASSION! does not even spend time in the room to explain what is going on with your health. I felt very rushed out of the room. They messed up several times on my refills and they blame me for not taking the right medication dose. He thinks that your the one non compliant with the treatment, when in fact it was them who messed up on my medications. Very rude.

He shows no compassion for what you are going through or whatever condition you have. He also is quick to shew you away when you have questions. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor.

Poor listener, poor at explaining things and answering questions. Spends as little time as possible in the room, five mins tops. And he messed up filling my 3 simple prescriptions, EVERY single time! I have finally moved on. Absolutely 100% NO recommendations from me! Good riddance!

I was a patient at this clinic before Dr. Varallo Arrived. Help used to be kind and complete. Now, the staff doesn't even make eye contact upon entry. The Dr. doesn't seem very interested in what's going on. Sometimes you're lucky to get two minutes with him, especially in the afternoon. He is a poor listener, and during my last visit, twice looked at me like I was stupid for asking questions. I would not recommend Dr. Varallo to anyone who wishes to have a conversation with their doctor.
