This office is horrible about answering the phone or returning phone calls. I have been trying to get a new patient appointment for two months. They require clinic notes from another doctor to make sure you are appropriate for the practice. Notes were sent. I was told by the receptionist that it takes the doctor up to three weeks before he reviews the notes. I have insulin-dependent, diabetes and know I am appropriate for the practice, but the receptionist would not let me make an appointment. I never heard back from their office and called one month later after clinic notes were sent. The notes could not be found, but she would keep looking and call me back. Four days later, I still have not heard from them. I give up and will make trips to Denver to see my endocrinologist.

Dr Wettstein is amazing! When I initially came to him I was in a terrible place. He tested, diagnosed and got me on a path and in a very short time. I feel like myself again. I even hugged him! Top notch Doctor!

Dr. Wettstein is simply the best. He's the FIRST endocrinologist I've ever had who's listened, cared and NOT yelled at or berated me in 337 years. I think that we are extremely lucky to have him here. He's one of the best Drs I've ever seen for anything, hands down. He's kind, caring, and considerate. He's also the first endocrinologist I haven't been afraid to go see. He is the best.

Dr. Wettstein says, "I treat the patient not the numbers" and takes a genuine interest in your well-being. He explains things very thoroughly and tells you why he is making certain treatment decisions. I highly recommend him, and I have been dealing with thyroid issues for 33 years, so I have a ton of experience. I don't believe the review that says the person never heard back. In my experience he is extremely diligent. I would suggest there was an issue on her end (full voicemail for example)

Monica Dr. Wettstein was a great endocrinologist. I saw him for several years before he was scheduled to leave in April 2020 for California. I do not have confirmation he left because of Covid 19. St Mary’s Hospital sent a letter dated December 23 2019 with the announcement of his departure and release for records which you might still be able to obtain by contacting Jamie Zarlengo Clinic Manager 298-6918 or contact St Mary’s Hospital directly. The letter also included an endocrinologist list. Their entire staff completely left and St. Mary’s had been looking for a new endocrinologist for 1-1/2 years prior to Dr. Wettstein’s departure. The letter also stated Dr. Wettstein elected to take 3-6 months off of practicing medicine following his February 2020 departure. Uncertain about his return? I hope this helps and wish you well. I had seen Dr. Wettstein for many years until recently when I called his office, and was told by a recording the clinic was closed with no estimated time of reopening. What happened? I never received any notification that he was leaving the practice and am left with only rumors. Anyone have the real story?

Dr. Weinstein took care of my Diabetes and Thyroid Cancer for the past few years. He was very professional, trustworthy, made sure I had the best of care, was kind, and had a great concern for my health. We now have no Endocrinologist in the area and it has left many of us in a great need of a Doctor in this special area of patient care. A desire is to have him reinstated or that he will return the Grand Junction. Pamela
