When my husband was brought into the emergency room, Dr. Clay was immediately attentive. It turns out that what was happening with my husband was critical, and Dr. Clay was able to see that and take appropriate action. Her attention and care towards my husband, as well as her empathy towards me will never be forgotten.

When she first approached me, rather than seeing if I was okay, or introduce herself, the first thing she asked was do I speak English or did I need a translator. s I suppose she thought I was Latino (I am not). After explaining to her that my pain has been a reoccurring issue that has not been resolved, and with lab and test results indicating everything was normal (as expected), I began to ask her what she recommend I do to prevent coming back to the ER with no answers. She immediately cut me off before I had the chance to finish my sentence and said “I can’t proscribe you any narcotics”. I told her that was not what I requested, or wanted. but that I simply wanted to seek her advice to prevent yet another costly waste of Resouces time and money at the ER. Overall she came off very dismissive with poor bedside manner. As a woman of color, I’m very conscious of the way I’m treated in the medical field, and she exhibited several instances of inappropriate bias behavior.

Terrible doctor- rude, insensitive and extremely poor judgment. I wouldn't let this woman treat my dog, much less my family. I'm surprised and disappointed that Inova employs doctors of this low caliber.
