Fabulous Dr.
I had Stomach cancer. My Oncologist recommended him. We tried the Mayo Clinic first but, wasn’t comfortable with the Dr. we saw there. He didn’t explain things well. Kind of felt like a number. Dr. Heslin went through every possible option I had and made everything easy to understand. Even let me speak to patients who have had it done so I could made an informed choice. Either he or Drew always called me back in a timely manner whenever I had questions or concerns. He made a bad situation so much easier for me. We traveled 3 hours from our home to have him do the surgery and for my follow up appointments I am so glad I did. Great Doctor !

I was a patient sent to dr.heslin back in 1998.I had seen 5 different drs. here in cullman and none seemed interested that I had what they called hiatal hernia that went from index finger size to gulf ball size in 7 days and to an orange size in 29 days.dr.heslin said this thing had attached to my aorta and would have squeezed off blood supply.he had my surgery scheduled that next week.turned out to be a retroperitonial mass.and thankfully was benign. This doctor is a godsend

Our experience with Dr Heslin has been disappointing...he is blunt and shows a lack of compassion for his patients. He may be an excellent surgeon , however our experience is if he cannot offer a surgecial solution his attitude is " you cannot cheat death" a quote to my wife. We met him twice over a twelve month period and left our visit feeling a same both times....we will not be returning.

Dr Heslin was cold and indifferent to my wife. When she was in surgery he called me on the phone and told me he had found more cancer than expected and he would sew her up and do chemotherapy. I ask him what about the mass in her colon, that was the reason she was having surgery in the first place was to have the mass removed. His response Oh I remember now we will cut her open. Heslin told my wife she would die from this cancer. She's still alive and doing well. Heslin not operate on my dog

Could not have been more pleased! He was the most caring, friendly and encouraging Dr I have seen. From first apt through post op apt I felt I had the best possible dr. Thank God my mass was benign and when he called me personally to tell me the good news I could hear true excitement in his voice! I truly believe he cares for his patients......
