I've gone to Hillsboro Eye Clinic shortly after moving to OR in 1974. I first went to Dr. Lee Peterson and then after he retired, Mary DeFrank. She has the best, down to earth, fun personality and is a great Dr. I hope to continue with another great Dr. at the clinic since she is retiring at end of 2023 with parttime starting sometime in 2024. I would give her the highest rating available. I referred my sister to Mary after she moved from our home in PA and also referred another local friend and both are very pleased. My oldest son also went to Mary before moving out of the area. Thanks for asking. Barb Brezinski

I couldn't be more pleased with my IOL transplant last year and just recently had her do blepheroplasty, which is healing quite well. With my sunglasses on folks don't even notice the small amount of bruising, much less than is typical.Would I recommend Dr. Defrank? You bet!

Been seeing Dr. deFrank for more than 20 years. I like the way she explains things to me in a way I can understand. She is very patient and answers all my questions. I feel very at ease asking my questions and getting answers from her. Her office does not accept my insurance for eye exam for eye glasses but I still pay out-of-pocket for her to examine my eyes for glasses. I trust her expertise and her detail oriented style.

Efficient. Explained test results (visual fields, intraocular pressure, optic nerve assessment) very well and reviewed management options in detail. All in a calm, patient manner. Would recommend her to my physician colleagues!

I had a work related retinal tear 5 years ago, and Dr DeFrank reviewed my progress post procedure to repair it. She was professional and thoroughly explained what she was seeing as she was examining my eyes. Her over-all manner was kind and re-assuring, which I greatly appreciated, as I was experiencing pain at the time and was worried about my eyesight. Since then, Dr. Mary DeFrank is my first choice for eye care. I highly recommend.

Dr DeFrank has, and inspires, confidence. Her professional manner and actions reassure me that this doctor is qualified in diagnosing and explaining my optical needs. She is concerned with the patient in the room and focuses on that patient.

She listens to your concerns, is obviously very knowledgeable, and does not hurry you through the appointment. She does her homework before she meets with you-she knows your history and past concerns. She is very careful in evaluating possible meds for conflicts and interactions with meds I already take. I can't say enough good things about her! She was always especially caring when taking care of my wife for many years.
