Inconsiderate, do not recommend
I had an annual physical checkup appt scheduled two months in advance. On the day of appt, after I’ve already requested time off from work and completed my e-check in, her assistant calls me four hours before appointment time to tell me that Dr. Eguia is sick and the appt is now cancelled. She then said to call them back to reschedule. No thanks. I know for a fact if a patient did that, we would be charged a fee for last minute cancellation but for the doctor, it seemed perfectly fine to inconvenience us. On top of that, I was already wary about this doctor due to her negative reviews from her other patients. I was given this doctor by a coordinator/scheduler from ColumbiaDoctors because she was the only one available with openings and now I can see why. Probably a blessing in disguise. I will be booking an appt with someone else in the new year as a result. Was hoping to have this annual exam before 2023 is over but that is apparently not the case with this physician.

It was supposed to be my annual check up (first time with her). She was in a rush and told me that I had way too many concerns for one appointment. I spent 1 hour in the consultation room and she only dedicated 10 mins to listen to my concerns. She is condescending and has very poor bedside manner

Disappointed in this doctor
Went to visit her for the first time and I was very disappointed by her lack of concern over my previous emergency room visit. I don't believe that she really looked at my test results from my emergency room visit. She put me on a Stanton and made it sound like a life or death decision which I later found out I did not need to be on. I called the first week of August to schedule blood work and found out she is not even with Elmhurst clinic anymore. No notification that she was leaving and that I would need to find another doctor. So unprofessional. I would give this doctor zero Stars if I could. My experience with her was a total waste of time and my money.

Fui a consulta con la doctora y todo estuvo super bien. Es bilingüe lo que facilitó aún más la consulta. Explica todo muy detallado y aclara tus dudas de inmediato

See someone else.
Dismissed me from the beginning. Didn’t address any of my concerns with any seriousness. If you have serious concerns that you want addressed I would highly suggest you see another doctor. This has NEVER been my experience with Elmhurst hospital physicians. I am so disappointed- what a waste of time and money. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I would not recommend Dr. Eguia. She has poor bedside manner and seems to lack some basic interpersonal skills. She talks more than she listens and communicates in a condescending manner while simultaneously sounding ill-informed about basic medical advice. I regret booking medical care with her and would caution others before doing the same.
