Dr. Mary Kao, MD

Dr. Kao said I needed an endometrial biopsy for post menopausal bleeding. She had to stop because she was causing me extreme pain. She played it down and said it’s unusual etc. she, later, had to remove my Essure coils which had migrated and embedded into the cervix. If she bothered to look at my chart, it was obvious on several previous scans. I asked about that being a contributing factor in the pain, she refused to acknowledge I was in any pain. Furthermore, she refused me HRT, stating outdated studies and repeatedly tried to put me on anti-depressants. Extremely disappointed. Basically gaslit the whole time. Do not recommend seeing her for anything.

Dr Kao was AMAZING! I loved her! We connected on so many levels, and she is very patient and kind. I appreciated everything she did for me. I'm so sad to have moved because I really liked her! Definitely would recommend her to others! 10/10

Dr Kao has been so supportive my whole pregnancy. She always listens to my concerns, takes them seriously and makes sure I know all my options. She make me feel reassured and offers top-notch care!

I saw her at Meriter Er in Madison. She was great. She answered all my questions and all my concerns. I wish she could have stayed in Madison, Wisconsin to practice. She is really a great doctor, and she knows how to relate to her patients. Thanks MJ..

She is my obgyn for my first child, and I LOVE HER. I was nervous because I’m a plus sized, first time mom, but the second I met her, I was put at ease. She’s so patient and kind and always so friendly! She makes me feel welcome, and heard and cared about. She’s 100% focused and remembers things we’ve talked about before. She is informative and reassuring and makes me feel comfortable and not embarrassed about anything. I 10000000% recommend her! She’s incredible!

I think Dr. Kao is an intelligent doctor and talented surgeon. She is a resident now, and I hope she stays in Madison when her residency is over. I had surgery with her. Easy recovery and she was really helpful with all my questions. Trustworthy.
