Dr. Mary McGinnis, MD

Incredibly rude and incompetent staff who think nuchal translucency is done at 16-18 weeks. A simple google search will tell you it must be done prior to 14 weeks. And if you disagree with the plan of care and decide to leave will make it difficult to transfer. When trying to advocate for myself and my prenatal care staff would say 'You're pregnant and shouldn't be getting work up like this' and hang up the phone without resolution. And then will cancel all of your current labs, appointments, ultrasounds before you're even established with a new practice because its UNETHICAL to order tests they cant monitor but its not unethical to deny a pregnant woman prenatal care?! Most uncaring group of people in Healthcare I've ever encountered.

She calls personally when there is a concern. She has shepherded me through breast cancer and now will do likewise through uterine cancer. The two NP are fabulous also. The whole place has a fun , caring vibe. Can't imagine any other place for my checkups or concerns

The office is difficult to get in contact with. They often have the phone hooked up to an answering service that can't assist with routine mattes. I've had appointments misscheduled and prescriptions messed up. I've been going here for several years for gynecological matters, and I've had 4 different practitioners for my annual exam. I've never met McGinnis herself, but it seems like a revolving door of practitioners. The latest practitioner was nice but just talked all about herself instead of listening to my concerns of ongoing pain. The one positive is that everyone is kind including front desk staff. I've never had to deal with anyone being rude, but I'm going to look elsewhere for better care.

Mary Joyce McGinnis is rude, unprofessional, and not comforting at all. She always has an attitude and makes you feel like you shouldn’t care about your pregnancy or body. But All the other staff are great!

Been a patient for 30 plus years you will not find a better gyn doctor in the capital district

Dr Mcginnis is the best gynecologist I have ever gone to. She's incredibly smart and recognized and diagnosed problems that I had/have that other doctors either poopooed or dismissed. And she then treated me. I always felt respected, heard and listened to in her office.When I developed complications that she felt necessitated surgery, she arranged for me to get a second opinion and to then get the best surgeon for it. Dr. Mcginnis called me after-hours to give me the results personally on the many and different tests I had to have.Several times I needed to be seen more quickly than she had room for. She arranged to fit me in after long days on Fridays. Dr.Mcginnis is the doctor that you should go to if you value top of the field knowledge, caring and compassion.

I have been a patient of Dr. McGinnis practice for 4 years now. I am amazed at her knowledge about so many things. Her ability to explain things and she takes her time. There is no rushing you out the door at this office. Very pleased. I have and will continue to recommend this office to friends and family.

I have been going to Dr. McGinnis for10 years. She is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. She is very thorough. She takes time to listen and explain. She personally calls with test results. The staff is efficient. Appointments are on time.

Dr. McGuiness is attentive to every detail and she is extremely knowledgeable. Much more care than I have experienced with other providers. I highly recommend her and the entire practice.

I have been going to Dr. McGinnis for years and I am really pleased with the quality and professionalism demonstrated in her office. Dr. McGuinnis does her research, takes her time with her patients and provides very clear and detailed explanations.

I LOVE this office. The Dr and every employee has been courteous and helpful. The educational materials in the office are a higher caliber than usually found in medical offices. I found Dr McGinnis to be a careful listener and respectful. She treated myself AND her staff with candor and humor. She is able to give detailed and well thought out explanations and seems genuinely engaged and interested. I highly recommend her.
