Dr. Mateusz Zagata, MD

Dr Z is always couteous and pleasant. Seems to be knowledgeable and well informed. Makes reasonable suggestions while considering the "whole" patient.

Dr Mateusz Zagata is my and my husband doctor. He knows how to listen, ask right questions to direct to the right lab testes. Makes the right diagnoses. He is caring. We feel like we are in good hands!

Dr Zagata listens, evaluates and allows us to be part of the determination process. He is excellent.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Zagata's, but so far am impressed. Appointments are usually on time and he seems knowledgeable and up-to-date on medicines. He asks the right questions and follows up with proper tests or meds.

Dr. Zagata has been my primary care physician for many years, both at Gulf Coast Medical and Max Health in Venice, FL. He has always displayed the utmost courtesy and been very attentive in listening to all I have had to say. This has been no easy task on account of my foreign travels and unusual tropical ailments, such as the residual effects of malaria, UTI fevers and post-polio syndrome. His speedy referral to a specialist to deal with a complete bladder shutdown was a critical recommendation in extending my quality of life, including dealing with atrial fibrillation that might have prevented surgery. For the last three years he has steadfastly supported me through three strokes and the onslaught of stage 4 terminal bone cancer throughout my entire skeleton, discussing alternatives when the drugs prescribed by oncology clinics simply made things worse. I have very little time left, so this is my opportunity to say a big thank you to the best general practitioner I have ever met.

Zagata has been my doctor for over 3 years. Having a serious sinus infection since February 9, 2022, which required a trip to the ER and continuing sinus problems, I requested a referral to a ENT specialist. His office gave me a referral which the doctor said he didn't accept my insurance. I called Zagatas office back, and they told me to call my insurance company, Florida Blue, 30% share of Florida health coverage, to find out who would take my insurance. Isn't that what Zagatas office is supposed to do???

I was a patient. When I went for a scheduled appointment, he had moved from the practice and the staff didn't know how he could be found or contacted. My medication is running out and the pharmacy cannot locate him to refill.

Dr. Zagata is an extremely intelligent, compassionate and approachable family physician. He is our family physician. He can do it all, from sutures (from dropping a knife on your foot) to up to date medications and current protocols on the newest treatment modalities. He is a gentleman, but also very proud and serious about his profession. He is truly a great doctor and a good person. We are lucky to have him in our community.

Dr Zagata is a cordial physician who means well. Unfortunately, the front office staff can be aggressive toward patients when he is away. Dr. Zagata ignored my complaints for 6 months until I was admitted to the hospital and will need major surgery for a problem I told him I thought I had. I cannot recommend Dr. Zagata. There is no case management at this office. So if you need referrals, he will write them but it is up to you to chase them down. They don't do it.

Dr Zagata is wonderful. So friendly and thorough. He took my symptoms seriously even when tests showed nothing. He referred me to a cardiologist that basically saved my life. My party sees him as well and when he has a prescription mix-up, dr Zagata called and handled it during Christmas weekend. Very impressive!
