Dr. Matthew Baker, MD

I broke my shoulder and was seen and operated upon by Dr. Baker. I had immediate neurological symptoms from the beginning of the injury, but had to wait almost 48 hours for an opening in the surgery schedule. Afterward the neurological issues caused further complications and there were delays at every turn. Three weeks to remove surgical dressings, five weeks to begin physical therapy, and the therapist had to intervene to get me into occupational therapy, despite that being recommended by a hospital therapist. No response from using the patient portal, so all communication is handled via the office and this slows down everything. I have had a decent recovery considering all the things that went wrong or happened in slow motion, but I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I had gone to a different emergency room. I had a lot of pain, months of therapy, and a lot of frustration. Would it have been better with a different hospital and doctor? I don’t know.
