Dr. Matthew Braithwaite, MD

He is my husband's oncologist. He is amazing and we are so blessed to have him! He always is on track with his treatment, following up with labs and x-rays if necessary and we always feel like he is in great hands!

Dr. Braithwaite took the time to answer all my questions and explained all my labs to me. He is a vey caring and compassionate doctor. I'm so thankful that he comes down to Sandstone so I don't have to go to Duluth to see him.

The oncologist was thorough, reviewed all test results, explained them to me with warmth and kindness. I would recommend him to others. Feel very confident with his care and recommendations.

The provider refused ti see my mother after she beoke out in a full body rash and hives 5 days after a infusion. Dr refused to see patient and stated “it is not a side effect, it is not related, go see your primary”. Rash was treated and patient had continoued to experience distressing symptoms but felt she should manage them at home to not bither the provider. The patient was admitted to the hospital with a life threatening condirion, had surgery. Patient then had to have another surgery less than a aeek later. Patient was discharged to a rehabilitative facility and then transferred to a swingbed unit. Patient was readmitted to the hospital the following day due to infection and is not strong enough to undergo another surgery. If you want to have even a 1% chance with overcoming your doagnosis, pick someone else.

Dr. B. perched above patient and did not sit to see eye to eye. (He needs to be aware this stance makes a physician unapproachable and can be intimidating and cause additional stress for patients.)Dr. B. failed to take patient knowledge into account and spent time over explaining very basic information rather than addressing concerns of referring physician or patient.No testing or labs were ordered and no clinical exam was performed.Patient condition minimized greatly with follow up suggested at a distant 10-12 months.

This was my first visit w/Dr. Braithwaite. He had done his homework, listened, had questions for me, and provided both a medical opinion and support for me making my own decision for quality of life.

The Doctor I seen was very informative and explained everything about my problems.

The physician is excellent, caring, kind, knowledgeable-took time to review and address history, meds, answered all questions. Very impressed with his manner and knowledge.
