Dr. Matthew Jones, MD

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr Jones. He has always made me feel safe, informed, and comfortable about every aspect of my treatment. He takes time to ask about me as a person, and always is available to answer my questions. He even came over to my chair during treatment to answer questions because I asked my nurse if he was available. I have waited for longer periods for my appointment in the past, but that is not consistent, and I believe it is because he makes time for his patients in the ways I shared above. As far as scheduling goes, his team has always been very attentive to me. You can also call and ask for test results. I also do not believe for one second that he would not remember one of his patients. I passed him in the hall at the hospital while on other business and said hello. He remembered who I was and asked how I was feeling. I honestly wish I could entrust all of my care to Dr. Jones and would recommend him to anyone.

He makes you feel at ease and answers all your questions. Takes his time and does not make you feel rushed.

Dr. Matthew Jones MD was well prepared for my appointment. He has great patient skills that create a comfortable and safe atmosphere for asking questions and explaining my medical conditions. He is warm and easy to converse with. He is a great listener. He is patient and kind during the entire appointment. I find him an exceptional doctor to continue my care under his leadership.

I like his manner and concern about my health

Takes time to explain test results and answer questions. Shows concern for your care and makes suggestions to improve your wellbeing.

Dr. Jones, Kendra, his PA, and the whole staff are all very competent, compassionate, respectful, and thorough. Patients are treated as people, not as diagnoses. Dr. Jones and Kendra actually listen to me and talk to me. Plans of care are explained in ways I can understand. They ask me about what I think and feel. I feel as if we are family. We discuss options, not told We will do this and this. I have never been made felt like a patient, but always felt a person. I trust this practice wholeheartedly, and highly recommend them.

His obvious kindness and compassion, willingness to listen, and overall affect. Very reassuring!

Everyone in Shenandoah Oncology is amazing. They really care about us. I have always had good experiences here. Even though what I’m here for is scary they make me feel as though everything will be okay!

He has always taken the time to explain everything. From the very first visit 3 years ago to my most recent visit a month ago, he has made me feel comfortable and cared for

He took time to listen to me. I appreciate that he referred me to a more specialized oncologist and insisted that I get a second opinion. Dr Jones and his staff have been there for me at every step of my cancer journey.

Dr. Jones is most caring & sensitive to his patients. After receiving a diagnosis of the 'C' word, he immediately put my mind at ease as to what was going to be happening in the coming weeks in regard to my diagnosis & my treatment.

All of the staff are very courteous and considerate. Dr. Jones takes time to listen to you and makes sure he explains everything so they you understand what your type of cancer and the treatment. Everyone there is very helpful and compassionate .

(I limit my review to 4 Stars out of ignorance. I am so new to the world of Oncology!)I have seen Dr. Jones four times. In general, I like his demeaner. He also has the ability to explain (to me complicated) issues related to my diagnosis and treatment in terms that I can understand.The only negative is (and in reality may be a blessing) that I feel that he could could give me more information as to his educated opinion as to my prognosis. But most of all, I do believe that Dr, Jones is a knowledgeable, caring professional. And that we are walking the path of unknowns together.

Dr. Jones fully explained the new medication I would be taken. He scheduled a follow up for a recheck. He reassured me regarding my treatments.

DrJones has been my primary oncologist for over 10 years now and was who originally diagnosed my multiple myeloma. I still remember him taking the first marrow sample!His care has been first rate (I’m still here) and his patient-people skills are great.

Dr Jones has always showed care for my issues. I feel very comfortable with his guidance and advice.

Dr. Jones is compassionate and caring, extremely knowledgeable. I highly value his opinions and care. I know he will be there when needed. The staff at his office is exceptional!

Dr Jones takes the time to listen to your concerns and always makes you feel like you are his only patient of the day. He never makes you feel like he's rushing through appointments.
