I have been a patient of Dr Powell for about 20 years. As a nurse, I know a great doctor when I see one. A more personable competent doctor is not to be found. He refers out easily when needed thu as a D.O., he can handle many problems that an M.D. can not. He listens intently to any problem or concerns and responded knowledgeably and appropriately. His staff are very responsive and treat each person as a PERSON. Scheduling appointments are easy. His location is easy to locate with or without GPS assistance.

Dr. Powell is an unprofessional and tactless healthcare provider that insults patients, their work ethic, and their health concerns. Dr. Powell is narcissistic in his patient care and very rarely refers patients to specialists because he attempts to address the problem in his office, which is not always effective. He is against second opinions of any kind, despite a patient having a right to get one. I was accused of drug seeking even after refusing his refills on 10 mg of hydrocodone and carisoprodol. Reaching his office is next to impossible, and even if you do, don’t expect professional treatment from his staff.

I love Dr Matthew Powell he is one of the best doctors that I have had in my 73 years. He has made me feel like I can open up from day one and talk to him. He listens! Listening is some thing that more doctors need to do with their patients. One of the greatest things about him is that he never seems to be hurried and takes time to respond to all my questions. I feel confident that I can trust him with my health care.

I have been going to Dr. 5, for years. When I was in for my wellness check the doctor did not have a face mask on. I asked him to put one on or I would leave. He wouldn't wear a mask during the covid-19 pandemic! I left and will never go back again. His staff is wonderful but I will not see a doctor who puts his patients at risk for the virus. He treats all ages and since they are sick they are more likely to catch the virus. Shame on him for not wearing in a mask

Have been a patient for 15 years. Over this past year Dr. Powell stopped returning patients calls. Staff stopped calling patients and care outside a pre scheduled appointment such as cough, cold, flues aches, pains no longer receive return calls. We were told to use walk in clinics. Will not return calls for follow up from the clinic as well. The receptionist suggested emergency room and ask for an xray. Truly a sad crash and burn for a ounce thriving practice.

My children and I went to Dr. Powell for several years before moving out of state. Now that I'm back in MI, I'm so thankful that I could start going to Dr. Powell again. He takes time to listen and really cares about his patients. I have never had another doctor that I have thought as highly as Dr. Powell. I would highly recommend him!
