First visit - positive experience
First experience with Dr. Riesen was good. He listened intently to our concerns, and we left with first steps. He seemed concerned as well and plans to investigate with Medicare to choose helpful steps that will also be covered by our insurance.

Dr Matt has been my primary care physician for the past 5 years and I believe he is competent, caring and cost efficient. Saint Marys is fortunate to have a young doctor of Dr Matt’s character.

He had me pee in a cup even though he couldn't perform any "definitive" testing on my urine, and asked me 3 separate times to describe my embarrassing symptoms only to tell me that I couldn't possibly be experiencing those symptoms. I left confused and in tears. He sent me to the hospital for definitive tests and they were much kinder and more receptive to patients.

before he was in family medicine he practiced as an OB at ww knight on central ave. he delivered my first child and the experience scared me. it was his "first baby" and this guy had me PUSHING before he even had his gloves on! he broke the water sac AS it was coming out of me "which is messed up because she would have been born in her sac #lucky) which caused her to take in water and made her sick. the baby shot out as the nurse was TRYING to put on his second glove, I feared for my baby. next day he calls in sick with STREP! I went to him once after baby born and he acted like he didnt even want to be near my baby. he is negligent. he is not qualified to be a doctor. not to mention he sewed my tear up wrong and now I have problems and when I first told him it hurt alot to have intercourse 3 mo after baby he said well good. yea. i found another doctor immediately and then received a letter a year or so later telling me hes in trouble and was released from practice.

I would give 0 stars if I could. A close family member had surgery and had to stop taking her Coumadin prior to the surgery, after surgery this physician had her resume her normal dose of Coumadin despite having a MECHANICAL VALVE and an INR of one and only two doses of Lovenox to bridge her. Anyone who has any cardiac experience in the medical field knows how dangerous this is and how debilitating the outcome can be. I am so disappointed that even after our concern was voiced, nothing was done

Great doc, very friendly, takes the time to make sure you understand what is going on and actually is genuinely interested in you as a person. I've only seen 2 of his office staff, one is fabulous! One, meh (she's moody and the only negative I can say about seeing Dr. Riesen, but he's worth dealing with her!)
