Dr. Matthew Siljander, MD

After being a patient with NOI for 12 years I feel secure and appreciate the amazing back office staff, PA'S and of course Dr Siljander who recently operated on my knee.Unfortunately, the current front desk impression is quite different. The 2 individuals that on previous dates as well as today are the most unfriendly, unprofessional people I have ever seen in a medical office. The girl I most tried to ask questions of, Stephanie treated my husband and I like we were bothering her, she never smiled, never spoke a polite word.I do not feel physicians of NOI reputation would want their patients treated that poorly., I can only imagine they are perhaps just are not aware?Thankyou.

Dr. Siljander stopped my terrible arthritic pain that had plummeted to the worst I have ever had. His hip joint surgery is the method that all surgeons should use because there is a quicker recovery period and less patient pain during that time. I am on the road toward being back to me!

my tkr on the right knee was performed by Dr Siljander on Dec 8 2023, he was very professional and the surgery was flawless, his surgical team and Dr Smith provided excellent care and i definately would recommend him. Dr. Siljander is a. Outstanding surgeon with a great medical team supporting him! I had my left hip replaced 18 years ago and needed my right one replaced. Remembering how difficult and painful my first surgery had been, I wasn't looking forward to the whole ordeal. However, Dr Siljander was upbeat and very positive while explaining the procedure and recovery. He said I would be going home under my own power just a couple of hours after the surgery. And I did! I am still recovering from the surgery but I have been active from day one and have even been going to the gym not even two weeks since the surgery! I highly recommend him for any procedure he performs.

From the very first consultation to my recent post op appointment, both the doctor and his staff have been awesome. Everyone is personable and treats me as if I am the only patient being seen that day. I enjoy Dr. Siljander’s sense of humor as well. I also appreciate that his office does not double book. The Get Well app is also a nice feature .

A few weeks ago, I was playing pickleball and experienced a sudden pain in my right leg. It was painful enough that I had to quit play. I went home and wrapped my leg and over the next couple of weeks things improved, but when I tried to run I experienced pain. I went to Dr. Siljander to see what was going on. Before I saw him, they did x-rays of my knee. When Dr, Siljander came into the examining room, it was obvious he was in a hurry. He quickly told me that the problem was arthritis in my knee. I asked him how arthritis would present in such an acute way but didn't get any reasonable answer. Since then, I did some research and found that an ACL injury presents with the symptoms I had, especially the ability to walk without pain but experience pain on running - and the gradual improvement over time. I'm not a doctor, but his diagnosis just did not make sense to me. Perhaps if I had gone to a sports physician, I might have gotten a different diagnosis.

Just had a total right knee replacement by Dr. Siljander. He did an excellent job preparing me for the surgery. The surgery went well and I am now 2 weeks post op and right on target.

No. He was over an hour late from the time of my appointment. He treated me like I was "an old woman" and that alone explained the pain I was in. No real recommendations or solutions. Kept looking at his watch. I did ask him "if I was keeping him from something important", but his explanation was that he got messages on his watch. I thought he should wait until my appointment was over before he checked messages.
