Dr. Matthew Sims, DO

This is one of the most hateful and arrogant men I have ever met.

Dr. Sims is very compassionate and attentive!

Why can’t we give zero stars because this dude gets zero. Absolute worst . The worst attitude and uncaring doctor I’ve ever met ! He makes fun of other doctors and nurses while “treating” you. Doctors way better than he thought of being. He needs anger management and a whole lot more schooling . Poor excuse for a doctor !

Visited MRHC ER several times in 2024. I had issues that weren't being caught my my regular cardiologist. I went in February 2025 and Dr. Sims pulled some strings and was able to get me to Intergis Baptist where I had a life saving surgery. If Dr. Sims hadn't made the call, I wouldn't be alive now. He saved my life.

Dr. Sims saw my brother in the ER. He diagnosed the issue immediately and had him airlifted to a facility for the necessary procedure. Thank you Dr. Sims.

During My visit to the ER Dr sims was very polite and very professional, He explained everything to me in a way that I could understand and gave me the reason why they were going to run certain test. The ER nurses were outstanding as well they took really good care of me during my stay. I would highly recommend MRHC ER I have been to many places and they were really rude and unprofessional but DR sims and the MRHC ER staff have been by far the the best in any of my Hospital experiences

I recently saw Dr. Sims at McAlester ER. He quickly figured out what was wrong, and got me transferred out. He even took the time to explain to my family. He was amazing! Thank you Dr. Sims!

He put me at ease and explained everything. I felt like he really listened to my problems and addressed my concerns and fears.

Dr. Sims provided exceptional care for my husband when I brought him in this summer for appendicitis. He saw us within 5 minutes of being in the room and informed us of his plan. Results game back in a timely manner and we were given options on surgery. Unfortunately, we had a second visit for abscesses a week later. We were relieved when Dr. Sims walked in the room! He acted quickly to get labs and imaging and we were accepted to the other facility within the hour. My husband and I are very thankful for the care we received by not only him, but the nursing staff, as well. McAlester Regional is fortunate to have Dr.Sims!!

Dr Sims saw my daughter after she fell and hit her head. He was very professional and asked a bunch of questions to make sure he got all the information he needed. He answered all of my questions and gave through instructions on when to return to the ER if she got worse.

He has treated multiple family members at different times over the last few years and has been amazing to each of them

He was extremely pleasant and attentive. He throughly explained my options and answered all of my concerns. One of the most educated doctors I’ve been seen by!

My son suffered a head injury from a minor hit in football. Dr Sims informed me of all the risks and benefits of radiation from a CT scan especially with my son’s age. I made an educated decision to not have the CT. He told me to return if symptoms worsened. My son got worse the next day. Dr. Sims was very quick and got the CT scan to confirm there was not more than a concussion as a result of the injury. I could not have asked for better treatment of my child. Very informative, patient, kind, and caring.He took time to show my son his CT image as well.

Dr. Sims treated my family member this week and saved her life! I am so thankful for Dr. Sims!

Dr. Sims was incredibly quick and helpful in my time of need.

During my visit to MRHC, I received care from Dr. Sims. He was very professional during my visit, and was able to efficiently diagnose the issue. Upon diagnosing the issue, he was able to provide the necessary treatment and discharge me from the ER in a timely manner.I highly recommend Dr. Sims.

I met with Dr. Sims in the McAlester ER and he was very good and caring. Excellent bedside manner and I felt very comfortable with him. I would recommend McAlester ER and this Dr Sims to anyone.

I am so thankful Dr. Sims is at McAlester Regional. He saved my life, literally. I was having extreme abdominal pain and shortly after I arrived to the ER I had a seizure because I was in SO much pain. My BP was stroke level. I was basically out of it. Dr. Sims did everything he could to figure out what was wrong. I had an ovarian ectopic pregnancy, that I was unaware of, and my ovary had ruptured. I was hemorrhaging. I would have died without the care I received from Dr. Sims as well as Dr. Riddel. I had to have 7 bags of blood. I am SO thankful for Dr. Sims and the care I received at MRHC! I would no longer be here if not for their help.
