Dr. Matthew Swan, MD

Dr Swan is a rare find. Even when obviously busy, he takes time to explain things. He never makes me feel judged when discussing my weight, and is honest and straight forward. I appreciate his approach to not blaming every little thing on weight (like many docs), while also explaining why being overweight is an issue. His approach is realistic and wholistic. He doesn’t just lecture me to lose weight, he helps to make sure I am losing it in a healthy way. Unfortunately the doctor he works with isn’t all that great and if something happens when he’s out you’re just stuck until he comes back. Wish he had his own practice instead of part of that healthcare system that isn’t great.

We moved to Kansas City just a year ago so we had to find all new health care providers. We chose Dr. Swan after doing some research and have been very pleased with the care we have received. He is friendly, thorough and very easy to communicate with and understand. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We are very happy with our new primary care provider.

I am a new patient of Dr. Swan's. I am 28 and have worked in healthcare for 9 years. I have not only worked with hundreds of physicians in the past, I have also been a patient of multiple physicians in my past (I have moved 4 times in 6 years). Dr. Swan surpassed my expectations. Not only did he take the time to answer all of my concerns, he also made me feel very comfortable while he was seeing me. He has an immense knowledge base that comes from his years working both internal medicine and oncology. He explained things very well to me so I could understand them. In addition, the staff in the office is very friendly and they were timely in seeing me. I definitely recommend Dr. Swan for anybody who is looking for a new PCP.
