ER Visit
Friday I had the most traumatic experience of my life. That is saying a lot for me. I have had brain surgery, natural child birth, an emergency c-section, my tonsils removed and a partial hysterectomy. I currently live in chronic pain with a condition called Ehlers Danlos syndrome and I have a lot of co morbidities that go with this diagnosis. I haven’t been to the ER in years because I know that unless you are dying you shouldn’t go. Friday I thought I was. Turns out it’s very likely I passed a massive kidney stone. When I finally saw this doctor I thought I would finally get relief. He did give me something for nausea and an anti histamine but no pain med despite telling him it felt like an 8. When I left my pain had come down to a 6. He finally tested my urine like 3 hours after my IV was started. I had blood in my urine. I feel like a human, seeing another human in that much pain, would have given them pain meds. Apparently those are reserved for less stigmatized patients.

6 STARS! Dr. Taecker is the most knowledgeable ER physician I've EVER met. I have been in an out of ERs a lot over the years, and no know has been able to teach me as much as he has. He took the time to explain my condition, counsel me on how to prevent such spells, and never said anything judgmental even though I was beating myself up for what I did to myself. He is the only physician I've ever had that really tried to understand my emotions, validate them, and help overcome my fear of the treatment plan.

ER Visit
Dr. Taecker was our doctor when we went to Benefis ER for a family member who was dealing with a serious illness. Dr. Taecker took the time to speak with us and after a workup in the busy emergency department was able to get us admitted for further treatment. His bedside manner was kind and patient and he put our minds at ease that our family member was being taken care of.

His bed side manner was cold and he tried to downplay my symptoms after I refused a specific treatment. In the end I left the hospital feeling worst than I did going in.

Dr. Taecker did not seem very interested in helping us when we came into the ER. He doubted my husband's complaints about having adverse reactions to prescribed medications. He actually said to us that he did not believe us. He was corrected by my husband's neurologist after contacting him. He was sent us out after literally saying "there's the door" and telling us to next time not come to the ER.

This doctor has got to be the most arrogant man I have ever met. You go to the ER to seek help and lord help you if you are in pain. He immediately became rude and wasn’t very compassionate. Needless to say, I left in more pain than I was in when I got there. Along with feeling like scum. If you are unfortunate enough to have this doctor, keep in mind that he has an issue with patients complaining of pain.

When my husband had a massive heart attack last month Dr. Taecker was the doctor on duty that night in the E.R. Though my husband later past away Dr. Taecker did a great job of getting him stabilzed and into I.C.U. That gave me and the family 4 more days for some very special and loving moments together. Memories that we will cherish forever. I was very impressed that he came to see him about 2 days after he was in the E.R. to see how he was doing. Great bed side manner!!
