Has been my doctor for 10 years
I was referred to Dr. Miranda after having colon cancer ten years ago. He has always been cheerful and takes time to answer my questions and explain everything understandably. I never have trouble getting an appointment, have to wait very long and the clinic staff is friendly too.

Condescending and Inconsiderate
I went in to ask about getting diagnosed for retrograde circopharyngeus dysfunction (not able to burp) and he spent half the appointment telling me about how google sometimes tells you that you have cancer and that I was wrong. Tried telling me that I have GERD even though my symptoms do not line up AND I took omeprazole for a while and there was no difference. This guy was arrogant and condescending the entire appointment and lines up with the other reviews that have been given here.

Condescending
Went in for a routine colonoscopy ending up having a second scope to look from above and I still don’t know why. I was put on medication to treat reflux that I do not have. ( no symptoms and all biopsies we normal). Would not answer questions just laughed and told me to follow up with him in the clinic.

Unprepared and arrogant.
Took over 2 months to get an appointment after being referred to him with a diagnosis of UC from local gen surgeon after emergency colonoscopy. He came into the office claiming I had constipation, based on diagnosis the year prior by GI dr. At Mayo. I tried to tell him I no longer had any form of constipation prior to ER visit. He then wanted to know ‘who diagnosed me’. I told him the doctor that referred me to him. He said he was sure that he didn’t get the proper biopsies to diagnose me correctly. Then asked what biopsies he took. I told him that should be in my chart. He didn’t have my chart, the images or pathology report and determined that he should ‘just see for himself’. So, he wanted to schedule new colonoscopy asap. I told him my symptoms have improved dramatically since taking meds and diet change. He laughed. I told him I leave in 3 days for vacation, he said ‘good for you’. I told him my daughter had celiacs and he asked,’who diagnosed her?’ Very dissatisfied with this Dr.

Dr. Miranda was thorough in answering my questions, and confirming that I understood the responses. His demeanor was positive, friendly, and professional. The post operative visit clearly explained his finding and procedure. I left with an all around good feeling and confidence in any needed return. I feel fortunate to be on the receiving end of his years of training and practice.

I would never recommend Dr. Miranda anyone. I have seen him 4 times in the office. My wait time has been from 30 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. At the beginning of my latest endoscopy he asks if I have an appointment to follow up in the office to get the results of today’s procedure. He says he will do a 3 month follow up appointment to go over the endoscopy results (really 3 months?) I had an abdominal MRI 2 weeks before the endoscopy. MRI said the Dr would have the results in 48 hours. 2 weeks later I had not been contacted. At my endoscopy appointment I asked Dr Miranda for the results. He said he would go read the MRI right now - an hour later when I get to the procedure room I asked again about the MRI. He said he would get me the results before I left. Thankfully, the RN handed him a printed copy. Right before anesthesia I was asked if a student could watch. I had been in procedure room at least 10 minutes. Afterwards I find out student was his 16 year old son.

Fed Up in MN – Aug 21, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Miranda?
Dr. Miranda was initially pleasant. He told me he was a "liver specialist," which was not true. He was abrupt when speaking to me about my condition, asking who diagnosed me with NASH (Which was done by a hepatologist/Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic). He was rude, and abrupt with me several times, not allowing me to ask questions or explain myself as I was coming out of anesthesia. I would never see him again due to poor bedside manner to say the least.
