Dr. Megan Furniss, DO

I just enjoy Dr. Furniss so much. Thorough, precise, careful, good listener, and if you come back later and state, “no this is still bothering me” then, she will indeed pay attention and make further inquiry and decisions to solve one’s unease or dilemma with an issue. She is very professional. She removed a tumor from my arm. I scar very easily, and to date, I have a scar you have to really look for to find. In addition, she is so personable and relates to us “old darlings” on such an endearing level. Office staff is excellent at explaining office procedures, making one comfortable, trying to work you in on an immediate concern, answering phones quickly, texting us to confirm appointments or see to perscriptions. I always get greeted with a smile! Office atmosphere is clean, neat, organized, without being sterile. It’s furnished comfortably and decorated with present day trends and also reflects life on the lake! Best yet, little heaters in the rooms to keep us cozy!

I’ve been seeing doctor since the last doctor retired. I sure do miss him. The office staff and personal are wonderful, courteous, understanding and helpful. Doctor not so much. She has her opinion before she even enters your room. She didn’t listen to what I’ve been explaining to her for quite sometime now. She wanted to give me medication with bad side effects for something I don’t even have. While I tried to explain it to her yet again she was having nothing to do with it. I had my face mask on the whole time durning our visit, meaning no checking anything out on my face. Unless your there for surgery and have good insurance, she doesn’t even bother.

Visit with doc was fine, but billing dept. "0" stars. Coded initial visit for insurance differently than what was scheduled and didn't inform in advance of upcharge. Didn't inform me that there would be additional charges to have more spots frozen. Made it appear as though could come back later and could get remaining spots done at later date. Decided to go to different dermatologist who is upfront with costs for procedures.

I have had several visits with Megan Furniss. A trusted friend recommended her. She's right at the top for me. Efficient, knowledgeable, yet compassionate and fun! I have had skin cancer and now I am cancer free. There has never been a long wait, but the office is pleasant.

I am so thankful to Dr. Furniss for her help in finding the correct doctors for my diagnosis and treatment for a very rare and advanced stage of Merkle Cell Cancer. I am now cancer free and will forever be in her debt. Dr. Furniss and her staff are all very pleasant and go above and beyond to help in any way they can.

Terrible attitude. She hasn't got time to hear patients Just rudely interrupts and confuses matters. Then demands patient be "more succinct" Dont even think of using this doctor if you want to be listened to.

Dr. Furniss was highly recommended to me by an RN in Lake County. I found the staff to be pleasant and attentive, and my wait time minimal. Dr. Furniss was caring, professional, and extremely thorough in her exam. She removed what was later found to be Melanoma. When I thought my incision was becoming infected, she had me come in the same day I called. I was so thankful to find such an awesome physician. I absolutely recommend Dr. Furniss to anyone who wants a great dermatologist!!

I have had 2 visits with Dr. Furniss and both were wonderful. She is extremely pleasant and takes the time to explain things and makes sure my spouse and I understand everything that she is doing. She is always happy and I can tell she genuinely cares about my medical care. I wish more physicians were like this. Lake county is lucky to have her here taking care of us.

Current patient at Lake Dermatology, but first visit with Dr Furniss. The wait was rather long, as usual, but definitely worth the wait after seeing Dr Furniss. She was very thorough, explained what she saw through the microscope, and was very reassuring. She was funny, pleasant and kind. We need more Doctors like her in Lake County. I was pleased with my visit and will return to Lake Dermatology.

I gave a 1 star because no star or negative star was not an option. Dr. Furnish was very rude and condescending. I was attempting to be a new patient, but she talked over me and had a hostilaty that was quite odd and unwarranted. I left very upset over the way she treated me.
