Let me emphasize by saying that Dr. Ortega is a true professional in every sense of the word. Dr. Ortega is a straight shooter, honest, caring & an artist in his field. His knowledge and experience in the field of cosmetic surgery is evident, and I was immediately put at ease by his calm and confident demeanor. During my consultation, he patiently listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions in detail. He took the time to explain the procedures to me in both English and Spanish, making sure I fully understood what to expect. He introduced me to the Anesthesiologist and their team to go over some medical questions to clear me before having my procedures. This level of care and attention to detail is truly commendable and something that sets him apart from other physicians.

Staph infection and didn’t receive lift I pd for
Ended up with staph infection in an extended tummy tuck which kept opening. It took a year for wounds to heal. Had to go to wound care for a year for treatment. Paid for a breast lift and implants and he took upon himself to not do the lift yet won’t refund me for the lift or fix it.

Greatest BBL AND LIPO!!
He was very kind. He even was joking and laughing with my husband who is in the room. I had a great BBL and liposuction from the doctor. I loved everything about the procedure and it turned out really good.

BEWARE!!! This place just ripped me off. I had my worst experience when it comes to plastic surgery. I have done two sets of labs and a physical exam. Everything was all clear. Then they told me MEL ORTEGA can't do my surgery. He wants me to have an echocardiogram. I asked them where will I even go to have that done. It's a week before my surgery and Kaiser does not authorize test for outside surgeries which I gave them that in a email. They are still refusing to refund me my $1,000. Besides the fact I'm off work already for those days and already had a flight I booked plus I had to pay for a place to stay. I just feel like if he refuses to do my surgery cause he feels I'm at risk then give me back my money. I have already wasted time and other money I can't get back. BEWARE!!!!

I had my lipo done by Dr. Ortega months ago. He explained everything to me about the procedure. Nevertheless, the outcome wasn't so great after all.

I had a tummy tuck,breast lift and breast implant with Dr. Ortega, I am thrilled with my results!!!! I worked for a plastic surgeon in the OR for a long time so I am very picky and not easily impressed, my body now looks perfect thanks to Dr. Ortega!!! He is an amazing surgeon, and very caring. He spends a lot of time with his patients. Anyone considering having plastic surgery should with out hesitation or reservation meet with Dr. Ortega. I am now one year post op and my results are amazing!!!!

I went to his private office , and I think for the price that I paid ,I got more that I hoped for. I started looking around a bbl surgeon because tax season was coming lol but I was overwhelmed with the options out here in Miami . Come to find out I knew a girl that has had a bbl with him. After the consultation he convinced me and again . I got more than my money paid for I’m the new botty if you know what I mean lol

I had my 1st liposuction over three years ago with Dr. Mel. The day of the surgery I was not scared until the moment they put me in bed. The anesthesia men that was there started talking to me about his experience the first time he did his own and how Dr. Mel was his surgeon also, he showed me his lipo results. I think he did this to make me feel better and it worked. When I woke up I fets like no time has passed, and they allowed my wife to see me. Never the less I'm doing round 2.

Find another doctor. Infected surgical area with almost $100K hospital bill and after 3 months the wound reopened. Regret the surgery and experience.

Bedside manner isnt the greatest. Which sometimes can be expected from MDs who are overworked and overbooked. As a nurse I know what to expect and not expect BUT waiting three hours for a 5am appt because he decided to go to surgery instead of seeing his early appointments he scheduled is very inconsiderate. Fast exam where he blames me for drains HE PUT IN not working. Staff isnt supportive or at least sympathetic when complaints are made. Very unhappy experience. Find another doctor.

I went to Miami from Canada to get a breast augmentation by Dr Ortega. I was super nervous especially since this was my first surgery and I didn't have an opportunity to meet the Dr before the surgery day. The staff in the office were absolutely amazing and really made me feel at ease. Dr Ortega was wonderful, he listened and really understood what I wanted to look like after the surgery. Almost 4 years later and my breasts are perfect. Best decision I ever made, could not be happier.

Im an out of state patientVERYunhappy with my experience with spectrum aesthetics/mel Ortega. I was promised 5 star service, scheduled check ins as well as a knowledgeable staff available to help best prepare me for my procedure. Instead, after placing a deposit all such claims became outrageously inaccurate. The staff was difficult to get in touch with.rarely called me back or responded to emails. Managers also give you the cold shoulder and ultimately i canceled procedure and lost deposit
