Dr. Melissa Love, MD

I visited with Dr. Love because she received so many great reviews and thought she would be a great fit as my new PCP. Within three minutes I was told to stick to my current physician; although, I expressly stated it was a new patient consult when scheduling. My anxiety was the main reason for the visit. I have fought depression and anxiety and know the difference. Later told I was depressed (which I am not) and should consider quitting my job. She read my chart and didn't listen to me. OLOL here I come because I am not feeling the love at Ocshner. #advocateforyourself #changeisnecessary.

Dr Love is by far the best Primary Care doctor I have had in all of my 79 years. She is considerate and listens well. She is a good communicator.

Dr. Love is caring and professional. I confide in her and she will listen attentively. When she asks questions, she shows concern. She also makes sure that your meds are filled. I give Dr. Love a 5.

I have never encountered a family physician with such little compassion for patients. Dr. Love does not treat her patients with the respect that they deserve. I have never been spoken to by any human being in the way Dr. Love has spoken to me. I called her office, because I was feeling bad, to get an appointment and could not even get a phone call back the same day, or an appointment for a week! When she called me back the following day, she actually told me "she does not have the time."

I'm very disappointed in Dr. Love's lack of flexibility and availability in communicating with me and my siblings. As a family making difficult decisions for our elderly mother, it seemed impossible at times to have conversations with Dr. Love. I understand that she's busy but in critical cases such as ours I was hoping she'd be more helpful and understanding. In the end she was not and it was a difficult and frustrating experience that I hope other patients don't suffer through as well.
