Dr. Melissa Wilcox, MD

I had Dr. Wilcox as my primary care doctor several years ago, and found her to be attentive, meticulous, and caring about the many health concerns I had. I went to see her for five or six different health concerns, and she listened carefully and took good notes about each one. When I was done listing the issues, she summarized and repeated my concerns back to me to make sure she understood, then created an action plan addressing each of my concerns, including ordering follow-up labs. She personally called me a week or two later to follow up with me, which I haven't had a doctor do since then. I recently got back on the same insurance plan I had before and tried to schedule an appointment with her, but found she had moved her practice. I found her to be a very good and caring doctor, and would recommend her.

For 3 wks I had low body temp, 94 to 96, and couldn’t get in to see my own doctor. I spoke to an advice RN, emailed bk and forth with my own doctor and no one told me Covid could cause this. They had no idea what the problem was. I saw Dr. Wilcox, she looked at my chart and asked me about the temp readings and asked me “what do you want us to do about it!” I told her I was very scared I had researched it and it looked like I could die from such a low temp; She said well you had Covid. I told her the advice RN, my own doctor and all research I did never revealed Covid could cause this and why had someone not told me this. I told her I never expected to go to the doctor and have someone with an attitude ask me what do you want us to do about it. Then she said she didn’t believe my thermometers cuz the only people she saw with this Low of a temp were comatose. I have two thermometers from different mfgs and always the same. she’s been a doctor for less than 2 yrs! Never see her again!
