Dr. Merlyn Vemury, MD

I recently received a bill for an office visit from over a year ago. It was only for the co-pay but I am sure I paid it that day while in the office because that is my usual practice. I received no prior notifications before this “going to collections” notice. And since this bill was from over a year ago I couldn’t find my receipt. Also I had moved out of state and closed my previous bank account so I could not have those records pulled. Before I moved, however, I had changed from this physician/ practice as I was not satisfied with my care or lack of professionalism of the office staff. I feel blackmailed into paying this erroneous charge other it will adversely affected me.

Dr. Vemury is refreshing. She looks at the whole patient. She does not shuffle you off to every specialist for every body function. She is clear in her diagnosing and communicates well.

Dr. Vemury is a nice lady. However, I ended up switching doctors. The office has one patient room and it is not very private as it opens up into the waiting room. For 2 out of 3 appointments in the last year, I had to wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time. The office charges $10 to sign forms and $35 for a missed appointment (I cancelled last minute - the evening before around 5pm). These charges were not explained before hand and I found them very frustrating.
