Thorough. Concerned. Knowledgeable.
I accompany my nonagenarian mother to her doctors. She takes 14 medications for her 5-6 slowly fatal conditions. Our first visit with him was yesterday. He checked and explained purpose of each medication. He immediately recognized fall risk of persistent diarrhea and prescribed alternative medication. He is sharp and engaging, both serious and lighthearted as appropriate. Her previous primary care physician was excellent but entered a specialized practice into which Mom did not fit. We were both impressed by Dr. Bavlsik and appreciate his knowledge and expertise. He zeroes in and gives solid advice and treatment.

I found Dr. Bavlsik to be very knowledgeable in all my issues. He told me what to except by going into detail and some new studies on two of my conditions. I wish doctors like this were the rule not the exception.

Dr. Bavlsik did not take my severe condition seriously. He seemed to brush it off like it was no big deal. Dr. Bavlsik mentioned that he was going to send an email to me after the blood work came in. 4 days later, still struggling with my condition, and I’ve heard nothing. 3 out of 4 Results came in the same day I visited. Last result came in next day. Leg pain was so bad that I could not walk on it, so I use crutches to get around. Dr. Bavlsik said it was a extreme to use crutches to help my leg pain. Im going to find myself a better doctor. That’s what I’m doing now. I wish I didn’t have to. I would give him 0 stars if I could.

Dr. Bavlsik keeps up on the current medical issues and takes time to explain why he is making a health care recommendation. He doesn't just write a prescription and head for the door. He is approachable and non-judgmental. It isn't convenient for me to drive 25 miles to his office but I feel it's worth it to get the best attention. The office environment is clean and comfortable but it is dated. It might be an issue if I were at a resort but otherwise it doesn't matter.
