Thank God for Dr. Daines! A doctor that hears me!
Had a knee replacement in 2016, not by Daines or his partners. Saw Dr. Niccola for years, all he said was 'your knee is tight, you have good range of motion, it'll just take time' He retired so figured I'd see if Dr. John smith could get to the bottom of my pain. He had a bone scan done followed by a CT. This is what he said 'good news is, there's nothing that surgery will fix, it'll just take time.' I've had 5 surgeries on this knee, not 1 person has said 'oh theres alot of scar tissue and thats your problem', no, all I hear is it'll take time. Decided to try 1 last time to get some answers. Dr. Daines was great, he took his time and answered all my questions. We looked at the xrays of my knees, side by side, before the replacement and He asked, 'why did he replace your knee?' We'll never know what the problem was, the old surgeon decided to replace it instead of figure out what caused my pain, so 9 YEARS and 5 doctors later, I'm going for a nerve block. Fingers crossed this works.

Misdiagnosed a cancerous tumor.
Misdiagnosed a cancerous tumor in my wife's foot. Sent her to Physical Therapy rather than get a simple needle biopsy. She eventually had to have her foot amputated after 2 years of misdiagnosis. When I was at Dr Daines office for shoulder surgery follow-up, we told him my wife's foot had a synovial sarcoma tumor, he responded, 'I've had many synovial sarcoma cases.' He had experience with synovial sarcoma yet he missed this obvious lump.

Knowledgeable and Friendly
Provider was great at pinpointing the problem and then explaining what my options were and the pros and cons of each. His staff was very friendly in person and on the phone. Handled a bump in the insurance quickly and easily.

Good doctor, poor support team
Dr. Daines was knowledgeable and kind. He performed a Rt knee replacement on me(45yr old male) in 2021. Instead of immediate rehab, his team did not arrange physical therapy for me with any urgency. 3 weeks post op was my first appointment and by then scar tissue had developed. This limited mobility and required a manipulation under anesthesia. They force the joint to flex and break up the adhesions and scar tissue. My knew knee that I waited for since high school sports is absolutely junk. I can't work and struggle with simple tasks like stairs. Additionally, post op and in great pain, I was unable to reach anyone repeatedly to request pain med prescriptions. There were sleepless, sweat filled, restless nights full of pain and moaning and all I could do was leave messages on the nurse line without call backs. It was torture. Now I am worse than before surgery, out of work, uninsured and receiving bills for the "out of network" services and personnel that they will not discount

I went to Dr. Daines for 2 years, we had to change insurance, his office personnel had been difficult at best over the 2 years, I had put up with them. Until we changed insurances, the office decided I needed a referral, I told them I would pay for the cortisone injection, no, have to have a referral, yadda, yadda. Went to get a referral, that office said that is not true, decided to change doctors, that office said I did not need a referral. So . . . if you want to be lied to by office personnel, treated with no respect, treated like you are a pain in the office staff's rear end, go ahead and go to this office. There are other great offices with just as good doctors in the Boise Valley, choose wisely, office personnel do matter.

I went to Dr Daines when I lived in Colorado I can not say enough good things about him! He also operated on my MIL and it was a complete success and she has brittle bones. His gentleness and bedside manner is with a kindness and compassion. Now I go to his brother In Arizona and he is a carbon copy. You want a amazing Dr and surgeon I highly recommend him.

I saw Dr Daines for extreme pain in my left shoulder. He diagnosed me with Frozen Shoulder Syndrome and gave me some sort of injection. I went back about 4 weeks later, he wanted me to go to PT but I could not afford that and they were aware and gave me exercises to do at home and told me to come back if was was not better. I need to go back as I am in bad pain but I don't have the money for my $40 Copays and they refuse to schedule an appointment for me until I can pay my co-pays. I am on SSD and have many health problems and am extremely strapped for money. The staff in billing that I have dealt with have had no empathy, no patient concern and are very brusk. Very rude staff.

I would, with NO doubt, recommend Dr. Daines to ANYONE I know or meet! I can't say enough positive things about this awesome person whom I am so very thankful I met. Everyone in the office cares about you and are very concerned about your health. I have never waited over 10 minutes to be seen and always get a call back on the same day I leave a message. As for Dr. Daines, I have never been so thankful to find as awesome of a doctor as him. During the first few minutes of talking to him about my shoulder issues, I knew for a fact that I had found a very intelligent, caring doctor whom was sincerely concerned about my pain. He is always jolly and tells the best jokes. But, the best thing was : He doesn't give you the run-around, he gets the job done. He said he could fix my issues with surgery...and I know some of you are thinking: OH, NO WAY. I'M NEVER HAVING SHOULDER SURGERY!!! I'VE HEARD IT'S HORRIBLE. Well, trust me. It's not that big of a deal. It ended my pain. I feel great!

Dr Daines took the time needed to thoroughly explain the issues and future issues to help keep me healthy. Most appreciated was his treating me like an athlete and not an older woman that should just learn to accept my age. As a 3 time Olympian, I’m sure other older athletes will appreciate being treated the same as I was. Thank you for getting me back my abilities. Inga Thompson, Halfway, OR

I can't say how good of a surgeon Dr. Daines is as I could never get my metal allergy test scheduled. Very poor response from his staff. I picked up my MRI and will find a new Dr.

Dr. Daines is professional compassionate and truly cares about his patients. I have had two surgeries with Dr. Daines and his care is second to none. He will take as much time as needed to answer all your questions. In my opinion there is only one doctor I would have surgery done with and that is Dr Daines so yes I will tell everyone about Dr Daines and I do tell everyone about him.

Dr Daines missed a serious cancer, synovial sarcoma, in my ankle, instead suggesting Physical Therapy that delayed the eventual diagnosis. At a later visit, Dr Daines was told of the final diagnosis and he commented, I have had synovial sarcoma cases before. The 4 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm tumor at excision would have been smaller 4 months earlier when Dr Daines missed the diagnosis, with a greater chance of not metastasizing. He never even touched my ankle before dismissing it as a simple ankle injury.
