I simply cannot recommend Dr. Everson to anyone I care about. I worked with him for years but have never felt truly heard by him; when I would bring up concerns about how I was feeling they were brushed off. He isn't rude per say, but when I tried to bring up a new concern it was ignored and comments were made about my menstrual cycle being the cause of a severe bout of depression. If you have medication that works and has worked forever, I believe he might be a good match, but if you have any concerns or changes I recommend going elsewhere.

Absolutely worst experience. Would not recommend for anyone no matter the issue. Waited for months to get in only for the provider DR. Everson to tell me wasn’t taking new patients. Completely disrespectful, lack of communication, and both staff and doctors unprofessional. Bad part is I was recommended.

DONT make apptmt w/this man if you’re struggling
He is rude, uncaring, cavalier, and unsympathetic. You will feel worse after the appointment. He also rushes through the appointment, just prescribes some meds and makes you feel stupid. I had one 9 minute telehealth appointment with him and now I can’t see anyone else at that practice because he will never release you to another dr.

He has managed by medications with great expertise these last 10 years and has kept me balanced and optimized. Don't bring your drama to him because he will tell you that he can't help you with that. Don't go to him if your someone who needs to be coddled and held for an hour by a psychiatrist. If you want a dr that will keep you well by managing your medication, who is efficient and not into drama, he is your man.

Dr.Eevrson is uneducated. He is extremely rude and will repeatedly interrupt you during your appointment. All he cares about is the money and getting you in and out as fast as he can. People who have seen him for years told me after I walked out that he doesn’t care about your problems and every time they see him it’s a five minute appointment of just “Is it working? Good here’s your refill bye!” I have a medical marijuana card and it is the only thing that has helped me with my PTSD flashbacks after being in a very abusive relationship for two years. The second I told him about that he told me he would never see “someone like me” and when I said I was leaving and grab my purse he started screaming nonsense at me and that I was frying my brain it felt like a horror movie. He is a horrible doctor and would never go to him.

He is impersonal and does not care about the well-being of his patients. I have been going to him for years and he still doesn't recognize me. Barely explained the medication he prescribed me.

Would chose 0 stars if that was an option. I have never left an online review for anything or anyone but felt compelled to after an interaction with Dr. Everson. He was the on-call doctor for my regular doctor the night I called in with a major anxiety attack while on vacation in the mountains. Without going into the details, suffice it to say he was unprofessional, if not downright cruel. I'm not sure why this man chose to be a doctor. Please, stay away. There are caring and competent doctors out there. This man is not one of them.

Super nice Doctor. Great bedside manner. Explained what kind of medication my daughter needed, the side effects, and what to expect. I feel very confident sending my 19 year old daughter there without mom going for upcoming visits, and feel she is in good hands.

Went to him and did not like him so I tried to switch Doctors. He will not approve a switch. According to policy, that means that I cannot see another doctor in the entire practice, which eliminates about 50% of the phsychiatrists in Kansas City. So if you were wondering if he cares more about you or your money, there is your answer. Also, his office staff is rude.

He lacks empathy, intelligence and the ability to make a difference in your life. After our secessions, I would feel worse than before I stepped in his office. He often laughed at my situations and told me to just get over it. When asked what I should do, he would often reply, I don’t know. His office was by itself without front desk staff. He would expect you to just walk right into his office without knowing if he was ready for your appointment or not.

Dr. Everson’s expertise is in medicine so his guidance is within that realm. He always asks me about what’s going on in my life in addition to balancing my prescriptions/doses. He will recommend additional outside resources for someone seeking more of a talk therapist situation. The whole office is friendly and efficient, in my experience.

Dr. Everton has been top notch with me. I had to pick a new shrink and chose him. We talked about what’s going on and my meds, made a couple of changes. He is making things work for me without overloading me on pills. Some want a therapist session. Go see a therapist or psychologist. He is a psychiatric clinician. His nice leather couch is for sitting on, not laying down and whining about your mother neglecting you 40 years ago.

I don't understand the low scores. I have been a patient of his for over 10 years. He has kept me out of the hospital since I became his patient. Before I was hospitalized by other doctors often. I have mental illness. It is an on going process of changing meds, increasing doses, or discontinuing some all together. You have to be flexible. The brain and it's function is the last frontier of study. Complex and complicated. He is not cold or callus. He expects you to work together as a team.!

0 star rating!!!!! Combine every 1 star review on here, copy, paste right here. My first psychi ever - 2nd meeting with him - same feeling afterwards - worse than when I went in. I refrained from reviewing after the first meeting thinking he might be having a bad day. Then came my second appointment which was worse than the first. I could not finish one sentence and he had already explained to me his 15 minute policy during the first meeting. He is the WORST.

Inconsiderate of people's lives when scheduling. Is only the self proclaimed "medicine man." He doesn't care about your problems, you ask for drugs, he'll give you a script. You miss too many appointments or can't pay, they bombard you with fees or drop you as a client. I was dropped because of medical bills from a partial impatient program that one of his partners was apart of. My insurance should've paid 5hosr bills, butit should not have effected Everson. He and his partner only care about $$

He's a pill pusher and immediately writes scripts when you sit down.....Very easy to manipulate to get narcotic medication....ZERO compassion and doesn't allow you to stay and actually talk and receive advice.....Easily the worst psychiatrist in Kansas City!!!!
