For all those who left negative reviews, I have rheumatoid arthritis, a condition for which there is no cure and only one semi effective treatment. That being Prednisone, which is a corticosteroid. It helps the symptoms, but it also causes serious damage to your body, especially when taken over a long period of time. I know this because both my parents also had rheumatoid arthritis. Other than diagnose it, and offer Prednisone as a treatment, there is very little a doctor can do for this condition. I also suffer from gout. Dr. Fairfax prescribed a drug called Febuxostat, which helped a lot. I chose not to take Prednisone. Rheumatoid arthritis is a terrible condition, with no safe effective treatment, and it is not fair to blame a doctor for that. IMO, Dr. Fairfax did everything he could for me. It is a no win situation. Also remember that specialists, including rheumatologists, are often booked up weeks and sometimes months in advance. I was very happy with Dr. Fairfax.

He was familiar with a genetic conditon I have and was willing to see why my blood work was off. I've been to other rheumatologist where they dismissed me and very rude. Dr. Fairfax and his staff was very kind.

Today, was initial appointment. I have a complex medical history and Dr. Fairfax in our 1st meeting has a good grasp of my conditions. It’s important we provide as much detail in our paperwork, so doctor can ask us pertinent questions and order testing. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My mother saw him twice. She called to tell him about 2 weeks later that she was still doing awful, having difficulty walking and breathing, he said there wasn’t much he could do for her right now and to stay with her appt that was over week away. She saw him for that appointment last week and she was in tears, having problems breathing and can barely walk,he lowered script and said feel better. She’s in hospital with bone marrow leaking and no idea how long she’ll be there. Thanks Dr Fairfax.

I was seen outside the doctor's regular office hours based on a referral by my PCP. The office staff was quite friendly and professional. Dr Fairfax was very thorough and attentive. He is quite personable and I felt his decisions for future tests and diagnosis reflected many years of experience. I am very pleased that I was sent to see him.

If I could put -5 stars I would. I work in healthcare and understand how things should really go for patients. This Drs office has the collective empathy of a nat. I drove 40 minutes for an appt and arrived10 minutes earlier than requested. I forgot my insurance card which the office has on file and can access online, so in spite of me being in horrible pain, I was denied seeing the dr unless I spent and hour and a half driving home and back to get my ins card. Best I can tell you is to stay awa

The office staff was super rude over the phone. Once my PCP sent them all the information they asked for in order to even schedule an appointment they then told me that I couldn't make an appointment because they didn't think I needed to be seen based off of the office notes from my PCP. I am currently seeing two other specialist who both suggested that I need to see a Rhumatologist and they wouldn't even accpet my records or notes from those offices. Don't waste your time with this office.

Dr. Fairfax's continually declines to reply to fax requests for prescription refills to the point where my husband has gone without medication for days, multiple times throughout the last few years. A nurse provided him with her personal cell phone number as, and I quote, "This office is notorious for ignoring those, call me if you have any problems". This most recent time my husband called the office multiple times with no response or call back. They banned him for getting upset by this behavio

He seems uncaring. I feel rushed. He says come back in 3 months. Staff gives you a 4 month appointment. Nothing gets better, just come back. He has no personality.

He seems very competent. My main concern is that he didn't give me yearly labs that needed to be done along with the routine labs. I was unable to get my meds renewed until the yearly labs were done. I didn't get notification of this for two weeks after I had called and left messages and talked to someone and got inaccurate info. Once I was informed I immediately did the lab work, which took a week to get back. A full month after I needed my meds I finally got a renewal.

In my opinion Dr. Fairfax and his staff do not care about their patients. They could care less if you need help. We waited over three months for an appointment, had all the necessary paperwork and ID minus the actual insurance card. They had a picture of the card from the referring physician. They refused to see my daughter. Their belligerence at the counter sent her into a panic attack and they did not make any attempt to help her. Run the other way!

Dr. Fairfax was a wonderful physicians that treated me like a person instead of an X-Ray. After 6 years of treatment I came into his office as a new patient (Silverman retired from patient care) Dr. Fairfax had reviewed my chart new my surgeries, medications, life skills.... He listened to my improvements with change in eating and did not degrade me.... I 100% recommend him to anyone that wants to be treated like an individual instead of a chart.
