Dr. Michael Freitas, MD

I contacted UB orthopedic regarding severe hip pain. Dr. Freitas was to be my doctor. I I dropped off my MRI and had an available X-ray of the problem. I was given an appointment over 2 months away. This was unacceptable as I have necrosis and stress fractures. My primary doctor sent a request for a sooner appointment given my damage. I was seen by UN’s urgent care and sent away because no one there could read an MRI and there were no doctors on duty. I called Excelsior Orthopedic and got an appointment with a highly recommended doctor 5 solid weeks sooner. I do not recommend UB Orthopedic unless of course you’re a millionaire athlete.

Very kind and compassionate doctor. He genuinely cares and wants what is best for his patients. 10/10 would recommend this doctor!

Regularly scheduled injection visit for me knees. Great office in Orchard Park, NY. Friendly staff, seen in a timely manner. Dr Freitas is very approachable and i feel good in his care.

I had a great visit with the doctor. He took care of me in an expedient matter and was insightful in the guidance he provided me for my after care.

Dr. Freitas is caring and concerned about the patient as a person, not just as a patient. He explains the condition in terms that can be easily understood and takes whatever time is needed. This is my second experience (for a different problem) with Dr. Freitas, and both experiences were just as pleasant and helpful.

The best doctor, I recommend him. He has helped me a lot with my knee problem.

I was a previous patient at the VA Orthopedic Clinic and it was suggested that I look for a primary care orthopedic, which Dr. Freitas is! I did some research online and decided on UB Med Orthopedic. From my 1st appt w/ Dr. Freitas & his PA & staff i was welcomed and felt very comfortable. After discussion of my situation it was suggested that I try doing PT and follow up appt was scheduled. Due to the COVID Pandemic, i had to continue exercises for my knees at home w/ follow up calls from PT therapist (Jordan). To date, we have tried cortisone< Synvisc injections & combinations. Dr Freitas has also made accommodations for me to move appts up due to pain increase & even an appt at another office! after recent visit new xrays were taken to confirm that I now would be eligible for knee replacements when I'm ready. I was given a list of recommended surgeons to research. There was no pressure to make an immediate decision, which I truly appreciated!

The office has great staff, very friendly. As for my visit, I don’t think anyone knows what’s wrong with my foot. So after two sets of X-rays and a $250 boot I’m still where I started. I’m in so much pain I can hardly walk. Trying a podiatrist next. Can’t wait to see my bill.

Dr. Michael Freitas, with UBMD, has cared for me for several years. He guided me thru xrays, casts, injections for pain, recommended PT and referrals for surgery. I always find him to be on time, and he TAKES time with his patients. He listens, gives you a chance to pour out your concerns surrounding fractures, muscle strain, herniations, and senses the need for pain meds or/or injections by LISTENING. That is what makes him a good Dr. He is low key and humble.

Doctor was compassionate about my pain and wanted to do all he could to alleviate my bursitis.

Dr Freitas took the time to explain things in easy to understand terms. Treatment options were thoughorly explained.

Visit was 40 minute late, due to the fact that I am technically cursed, so when I couldn't establish a connection thru my cell phone, I was able to thru my laptop. I was able to turn the laptop, so that Dr. Freitas could look at my healing injury. He was satisfied with the progress, and the video call was concluded.

My experience with Dr. Freitas has been great so far. He takes the time to listen to me and explains everything in a way that I can understand. I’m very thankful that my primary doctor recommended Dr. Freitas to me. If you’re looking for a doctor who will think outside of the box and try other things before surgery then I highly recommend Dr. Freitas. You won’t be sorry!!

Dr. Freitas is great as both my primary and knee doctor. He spends time with you, listens to you, and diagnosis issues other doctors miss. I would recommend him to anyone!!

Excellent doctor!

Dr. Freitas is really nice and i really enjoy going to him. He is very friendly and very welcoming his new patients. He is the kind of doctor that will try and help you figure out what is wrong. Sometimes you are normally in there in and out. He will also get excited for you when you make an accomplishment. This Dr. is amazing i normally dont go to a male doctor but when i go to him i am super comfortable and i can talk to him about some stuff. His staff is super nice and helpful to

Dr. Freitas displayed a pleasant and professional bedside manner. He addressed all my concerns and answered questions clearly and directly. He gave complete descriptions of my medical options explaining pros and cons of each choice. The office visit was relaxed with the doctor spending ample time with me. He proved himself to be caring, knowledgeable,candid, and trustworthy. He also appears to have a pleasant working relationship with his staff.
