Dr. Michael Guffey, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Guffey for 16 years. I called yesterday to talk to him about being tested for lymes disease. I was told that his office was closing in two weeks but was squeezed in. After asking 5 different times, he refused to write an order for lymes testing. When asked why he wouldn’t he told me that I didn’t have the right symptoms. I told him that I wanted tested because I had aches and fatigue for months! He angrily told me during my 5th request that we still had two weeks and if the other tests he decided to do were negative then he would “go fishing” and test me for lymes. I told him one last time that if he was willing to do it then that I wanted it done now and he told me no.

He has been my Doctor for a long time and has always gone out of his way to ensure that I was cared for. I was in a really bad work accident years ago and while other doctors turned me away because of the complexity of the injuries. Dr. Guffey took it upon himself to take the lead in my care and helped me regain a normal life and I now have a beautiful family! I highly recommend him!

I feel he is not a good doctor, for good doctors care about their patients.

I'm not his patient. I'm the daughter of a patient of his who passed away over 8 years ago, and the attention my mother has received from Dr. Guffey has bothered me for that long, so much so, that I finally decided to write my warning to any future patients that I just don't think he's a good dr.
