Dr. Michael Holt, MD

During early 2019 I found Dr. Holt and University Orthopedic Surgeons. Moving freely had become more difficult because of knee pain, and I was ready for possible knee replacement. Dr. Holt treated me with great respect, listening to my complaints, answering questions my husband and I had, and presenting options for care. I am grateful that I followed his recommendations. This surgery returned my life to me. By the time Covid restrictions were in place, I had "graduated" from therapy and returned to classes at our fitness center. After isolation, a fitness instructor offered training via Zoom; when we returned to in-person classes, I was in better condition than I've been in years. I've discovered the joy of movement. Gone is the little girl whose mother had to cajole, beg, and threaten her to play outside. Here today is this "old lady" who enjoys line dance classes, walking, aerobics, biking. THANK you, Dr. Holt and your careful and caring team for four years and counting!

He did some much needed arthroscopic work on my left knee. He's very caring and patient explaining what is going on. Good follow up. You can trust him. If this progresses to replacement, I'll again trust him to do it. Highly recommenced!

Two knee replacements later, both at UT, I am a believer in Michael Holt and this group. They are frank, competent and will stand up for their patients. As a trial lawyer I looked until I found the group that most agree is the best in East Tn.

I would not recommend, his interests appear set on turning patients as fast as possible and paying for the equipment. Forcing a contribution from every patient (redundant X-Rays) without giving thought to or hearing their real need is not caring for people. Just another doctor where profitability rules. One can only wonder if there was once a spark of human interest in their study of medicine, and if so what happened.

Dr Holt, did my knee surgery 3 months ago. Acl, mcl, and meniscus my pain level has been little to no pain since a week after the surgery. I would highly recommend him.

I needed my knee replaced and Dr Holt evaluated my complicated leg that had old hardware from a break years prior. Without going into a lot of boring details, he decided what was needed and replaced the knee. From start to finish, I couldn't have had a more caring, knowledgeable surgeon. All of staff from the front desk to back does their job like a well oiled machine. Dr Holt guards his patients until he is satisfied with their recovery. I can highly recommend Dr Holt and his staff.

Simply the best! Dr Holt has done knee replacements on both my legs. It has made such a change in my life. I was very apprehensive about the surgery to begin with and had put it off because of my fear. The process was explained in detail as well as what to expect after surgery. The joint replacement class is excellent. Dr Holt and his staff is very caring and accessible. Phone calls were returned promptly. I couldn't have gotten through 1 knee surgery let alone 2 without this fantastic team

Dr Holt is very friendly and cares very much about his patients. He has been my orthopedic Dr for over two years. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I am under the age of 5o and desperately needed bilateral knee replacement surgery. Dr. Holt did an amazing job and his staff is great. All were caring and very attentive to my needs.

Dr. Holt did a total rt knee replacement on me in April. I stayed in the hospital 2 nights , went home on a Thursday and started PT on Friday. The care and treatment that I received was excellent. Dr. Holt is very friendly and has a great personality. He is definitely the surgeon that you want to replace your knee. Dr. Holt, besides having a wonderful caring personality, he is attentive to your questions, needs, and will spend as much time as possible with you. He is a skilled surgeon, informs you of whats to come and how long you can expect recovery.. His office is very attentive to your needs and responds almost immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Holt to anyone needing Orthopaedic needs.

Dr. Holt has been my surgeon since I was 15 yrs old. Now at 36, with my ongoing battle with lupus, he has helped me deal with the everyday pain and I trust him with everything. He's more than a doctor, he's family!

Dr.Holt is a wonderful Doctor I was almost in a wheelchair because my knees were so deformed and bone rubbing bone another doctor that I had been seeing would not do surgery because he wanted me to lose weight but it is hard to lose weight when you can not walk but now since doctor Holt did my surgery I have lost weight and I am continuing to lose. I am doing thing now that I have not done in years. Dr Holt gave me my life back and I thank God for him and his whole team.

I was having pain in my hip from previous surgeries and breaks. I went to see him several years ago and I was very satisfied. He recommended therapy and heat for the pain and it did help.
