Dr. Michael Michel, MD

I really liked Dr Michel,at first. He is knowledgeable, explained it all very well. However, I spent 10 months after my hiatal hernia, with mesh, and a TIF procedure, not being able to swallow food, and it only got worse. Each time that I went to him, he wanted to dilate my esophagus, saying that I had scar tissue; he would put me on steroids. Twice, he dilated my esophagus, but removed a polyp, so he couldn't give me steroids. Finally, I drove myself to the ER. This is where I saw another side of this doctor. I had been treated as if I was making this all up, but when I was given a barium swallow, nothing was going into my stomach. Fast forward to 10 months post op, during my 4th dilation, suture and mesh was found embedded inside my esophagus. He removed it. To this day, I am still not 100%. I can't believe that I was allowed to suffer for 10 months, under his care. It's been over 2years Since my surgery. I only now have been able to swallow food, thanks to 10 Other drs I saw since.

Dr. Michel was so thorough and detailed regarding my diagnosis. His professional approach was marked with a very consistent effort to ease my concerns and answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed.

Appointment was by telehealth. Went smoothly with no technical problems.

This was my 01st time meeting with Dr. Michel and the staff. I was very well pleased! Dr. Michel listened to everything that I had to say. He shared his opinion and suggested different options that we can do thru surgery. I am totally thrilled and very happy with my experience. It was a great feeling knowing that a doctor is going to really assist me as he said. Listening is very important for his patients and that was what I was looking for.

We had a virtual visit; Dr. Michel is the most caring, compassionate doctor..... he takes his time, he listens to you, he answers any concerns you have, in a way that you understand the whys and why nots...He is firm too in his answers which I find important.. I am so blessed that I found you, and I thank you.. your staff is amazing...thanks

I am from out of state. Hiatal hernia repair — laproscopic — and esophageal mobility innefficiency — TIF procedure. I could not be more pleased with every aspect of the care by Dr. Michel. No GERD or wedge needed for first time in 40-plus years.I highly recommend Dr. Michel.

I found him as described - knowledgeable, caring and truly professional. I know where to go if I need help in the future.

I recently had a consultation with Dr. Michel. I have had chronic acid reflux for 15 years. I think he spent more time with me than any physician I have ever had ! He was so patient and thorough and listened to everything I had to say. He gave me his preliminary thoughts and opinions on what I was dealing with and was very encouraging that he could help me. He took the time to explain all of my options. I am going to get the tests he recommended and I am so hopeful that he can help me. I feel very confident in his abilities and look forward to having a doctor/patient relationship with him. His staff is great too! They answered all of my questions and were very nice.

Yearly checkup after surgery. Everything is as expected with no problems.

I was awestruck when I met dr. Michel. He explained everything so well I've never had a doctor do that before. So I was very impressed and see that there's hope!

Dr. Michel and his office were wonderful when needed Linx surgery. They particularly Francis were so great trying to get me scheduled around Christmas as Summerville Medical kept canceling at the last minute. I wish he was affiliated with Trident.

Dr. Michel is a very kind, caring physician whom I met at one of his seminars. I was given an appointment quickly and found him to be very informative about my problem and left me with a positive feeling that he could help me. I definitely recommend him.

I didn't initially choose Dr. Michel (because I was admitted via the ER), but if I had it to do all over again, I would choose him. He did an excellent job with my cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal). I didn't have any complications, and everything is healing nicely. I hope I never need any more abdominal surgery, but if I do, I will definitely seek Dr. Michel.
