Dr. Michael Prater, MD

I was diagnosed with a Melanoma cancer on my ear, he had me come in on a Saturday gave me 2 options, 1 to do the excision and monitor or 2, excision and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy and remove them. I chose the second. He operated 13 days later and removed all the cancer and nodes in my neck, pathology came back I was clear. Very professional and on time, all his predictions of my condition were spot on. I would never hesitate to use him again.

It was very good. He explained my condition and offered treatment that he would take to help . He explained what the treatment would be and how he was going to go about it. I found this very helpful and he relieved the feeling of stress that I was having about this problem. He has been very helpful with my past problem and I know he will succeed with this problem.

This is a completion of my previous post. He wouldn't tell my what my diagnosis is after several requests. He got VERY unprofessional when I stated he hasn't helped me yet, really only hurt my ear. He can't handle being told his methods aren't working. Steer clear of this guy. He's on a power trip and won't listen.

Dr. Michael Prater is an excellent doctor. He is very thorough in his diagnosis and knew exactly what would make my sinus condition better. He performed a sinus oblation which took only a matter of minutes and has already my breathing much easier. I haven't had this comfort level of breathing in as long as I can remember. The big plus he is also a very nice doctor.

Helpful staff

Had some severe nose bleeds. Dr Prater quickly found the issue and showed me so I could understand, made more in depth exam to rule out other issues, and subscribed something that has worked great

After suffering from different ear problems, I went to see Dr. Prater. I told him that when I was in my teens, I was told I had a hole in my eardrum. He checked and said that there was nothing wrong and that I just had earwax. I was so surprised, that I asked,” Are you sure?” He replied,” Yes, nothing but earwax.” Well, two years later, I was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with vertigo. I was sent to another ENT. He found the problem immediately. I have a hole in my eardrum and a growth called Cholesteatoma that has gone into the bone already. My life is in danger and if the infection goes through the bone, it is not good!!!! I am absolutely disgusted that a so called “Specialist” would neglect to do his job correctly. I have so much to live for and I’m glad I went to another Doctor that found it right away. Stay away from this so called “doctor”!

It seems Dr Prater just wants to do surgery! Told me I have Sphenoid sinusitis after research I found the first course of action is antibiotics which were not prescribed. I have course had several questions and when I called the office about this I was told that I had too many questions and to find a different doctor! MONEY HUNGRY DOCTOR NOT WORKING IN THE BEST INTEREST OF HIS PATIENTS!!! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM DR PRATER AS POSSIBLE!!

Dr Prater is the very best. Absolutely competent!

Dr Michael E Prater in Lake Havasu City, AZ is an extremely professional doctor. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and personable. I was referred to Dr. Prater for an excessive wax buildup by my primary care physician. I promptly got a convenient appointment and after filling out the "new patient" forms, was seen within 5 minutes, The removal was done well and quickly. I was in and out of that office within 1/2 hour and will certainly return there for all my ENT needs. It was a friendly staff, fast service, all round great visit to Dr. Prater's office. I highly recommend him.

Very unprofessional doctor and incompetent staff. Had to fire the doctor and obtain the needed services in Phoenix with a doctor who is professional with a competent staff.

I went for a follow up after thyroid surgery, I was suffering from severe allergies, Dr. Prater checked my sinuses, ears, nose & throat out while I was there, gave me an allergy shot, and nose drops. I didn't even ask him to! Most specialists will not even do anything for a patient except the one thing they are being seen for!!! I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Prater is extremely knowledgeable and has a very caring bedside manner. He takes time explaining your problem and your options. He is extremely devoted to his patients. We trust him explicitly and can't recommend him high enough. He saved my husbands life. He continues to be both of our Doctor. His office is very well managed.

I was seen by Dr. Prater several years ago, and he removed some polyps on my vocal cords. My voice was hoarse and raspy, and improved after he removed the polyps. This past August, he removed my left tonsil, and thank goodness, it wasn't cancer like he had suspected. Just a badly infected tonsil. Dr. Prater was very kind and compassionate with me, took his time, and didn't rush me through the visit. I so appreciate doctors that show they care about their patients. Thanks, Dr. Prater!

I would highly recommend Dr. Prater for any medical issue. He takes his time with patients and does not hurry through an appointment. As I am a snowbird, he encouraged me to visit an ENT in my local should I have problems in the summer to not wait. While I had seen a ENT several years ago for the same problem, Dr. Prater explained my condition more clearly and recommended medical plan. He treats patients with respect.

I still have problems with my ear. I paid him $134 dollars and he looked at my ear and asked me what I put in it and I told him a Q-tip and he told me to stop doing it. And I said is that it? And he said yes, what do you want? I Said how about cleaning the wax in my ear. Dr. Prater said no I am not going to do anything, I am going to give you a prescription an Don't use Q-tips. Terrible Obnoxious Doctor, bad manners and bad treatment.

Dr is very timely, seems to be very competent...
