I would not recommend Dr. Rieser. I had a horrible experience and am shocked that this kind of behavior is tolerated for doctors, especially when dealing with mental health. I was dropped as a patient because my medications were not working and left with nowhere to go and am confused on what to do next. It was abrupt and unprofessional. I am sad to see that others have had this experience with Dr. Rieser. It’s disheartening to put your full trust into someone who simply does not care or try to help after just one or two attempts at finding a helpful medication.

Dr. Rieser is by far my favorite psychiatrist I’ve ever seen. He always makes me feel heard, even when seeing him in a hospital setting. He always makes sure I understand my diagnosis and medications.

Dr. Rieser believes himself to be always correct which comes across as reassuring at first but if he is wrong instead of admitting that he instead will keep pushing the same medications and make the patient feel they are not getting better because they don’t want to. I put all of my trust in him when things were very scary and I was misdiagnosed, given medications that made my symptoms much worse, and was yelled at in consultations before he dropped me as a patient bc I “didn’t care” he said.

Terribly arrogant. Cold turkeyed me off ativan, and was unable to recognize my sudden decent into withdrawal, labeling it ptsd and anxiety despite the horrid physical symptoms I was having and referred me for ect. Sent me home in worse condition than I had arrived. Luckily I didn't kill myself, despite the desire. And I didn't go through with the ect. I educated myself about what was happening to me. It's sad that these "professionals" seem so unaware of the effects of these meds.

I was a patient of Dr. Rieser's for 2 years. He is a very smart man. Too smart! He has a very dry but good sense of humor. He can however be perceived as odd. He can have difficulty in long conversation. So be prepared! He often asks questions that require deep thought. Rhetorically we know the answers. He was very busy,

I had a similar experience with Dr. Rieser a few years back. None of his medications were having much effect and it got to the point where he just dropped me as a patient. Disheartening to see that this was not an isolated case. Rieser was often incredibly rude throughout the duration of my tenure as his patient, once brazenly asking if I was autistic.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Rieser. We spent a long time trying to figure out what was going on with me and then after working together for weeks and not being able to figure it out, he dropped me completely, refusing to answer any of my calls and refusing to call back. I was left with no medicine and no doctor which led me to need to go back to The Ridge hospital, where he then refused to admit me. I would not recommend anybody seeing Dr. Rieser unless you want to be in trouble.

I had a horrible time with him. He was nice my first couple of visits. He wanted to put me on lithium but I have a family history of seizures on it so i said no. He got very angry. He then became angry that my back doctor had me on pain medications because I need a third back surgery. He through a paper of my medication at me. He wanted a release of all my medical records from every doctor I have ever seen and to call them. When I told him no he ripped my scripts up in front of the whole lobby!
