Avoid
If you are looking for a physician that has no empathy:If you are looking for a physician that does not review his prior progress notes, does not remember what he did on the last visit,(and acts like he remembers):If you are looking for a physician that sends you to a pain specialist, one that you needed to wait for three weeks - acute pain - and then informed that she does not treat your condition:If you are looking for a physician that does not listen to your concerns,:If you are looking for a physician who is hands off and does no physical examination:then I recommend Dr. Michael Schwartz, Orthopedic, highly. Please note that I was a Podiatric surgeon who trained residents in 5 hospitals throughout New York and a part owner of a surgical center.Dr. Schwartz is polished and appears very sharp. However, if you scratch the surface you will not get a diamond; only glass I recommend Orthopedic care at HSS, Northwell Health or even a Veterinarian over Dr. Schwartz.

Incredible doctor and surgeon!
Dr. Schwartz is an incredible doctor and surgeon! He operated on my knee for a torn meniscus and I cannot say enough amazing things about it. My recovery was great, walking by day 3 and the scars are barely even noticeable. At my post-op he showed my pictures and explained everything he did in detail. He spent over a half an hour answering all my questions. He made me feel calm and educated about the procedure. I highly recommend him for any surgery!

Best knee surgeon
Dr. Michael Schwartz did an excellent job with my meniscus and ACL surgery. I am 65 years old and was told by another doctor that I was not a candidate for surgery because of my age. It has been 5 months since the surgery and I am thrilled with the results. I feel like I got a whole new lease on life. He was very caring and guided me step by step through the entire process. I can't say enough about Dr. Michael Schwartz!

Dr Schwartz is a wonderful doctor and is highly recommended I torn my meniscus in my left knee and surgery was not the first option it was a little physical therapy than a cortisone shot which unfortunately did not work.. I had the surgery in late June and I am so pleased with how it went and how I feel now..

He immediately mentioned surgery for a shoulder problem. I saw another doctor who prescribed physical therapy, and it worked very well. Dr. Schwartz never mentioned physical therapy and appeared eager to do unnecessary surgery. He had an arrogant, uncaring attitude. I have since learned that rotator cuff tears are very common, especially in people over age 50, and surgery is rarely needed. Conservative care is always the first line of treatment.

Dr Schwartz has treated my family and friends for over 15 yrs. Dr Schwartz is a highly knowledgeable, extremely caring and all around doctor who is extremely conservative in his surgical procedures. He has saved many of my friends by recommending physical surgery with highly positive results. Recently a friend went to him after 2 unsi cussful surgeries and is now a top tennis player! He's definitely one of the best physicians I know! Highly recommended!!

I must have missed this site. Dr Schwartz operated on my shoulder. He screwed it up. It could have been repaired but i guess his willingness to admit a mistake and ego was more important than my shoulder. After 4 years, and having 3 more surgeries while the Hospital for Special Surgery doctors tried to help me. The end result is that had he done the right thing and been honest about what he did wrong it could have been fixed. Instead i have permanent nerve damage, pain mgmt disability. Ty doc.

Do not go to Michael Schwartz! His bedside manner is awful and unprofessional and he completely screwed up my knees. After giving me shots in my knees 3 consecutive weeks in a row, I could not walk. When I called in because I had a high fever and was in tremendous pain, he did not return my phone calls! I had to go to another dr in the city who alleviated the pain and was charged by him! After I refused to pay his charge I finally received a call from Schwartz himself! He is inept and uncaring!

The first time I waited for well over an hour for a 3 minute meeting where I was not listened to what-so-ever. The second follow up I was running 10 minutes behind due to horrible traffic and called in to be told no appt I was tooooo late! Today I I went to another Doctor that LOOKED at my MRI and put me through miovement & said I was misdiagnosed! It was NOT my rotator cuff it was my bicep ( I tried to tell Dr. Swartz, this he could care less!) Do not go! It's a careless factory of incompetence

Had an appointment to see Dr. Schwartz instead was seen by a PA and he never came in. PA told me I would benefit from getting knee injections but needed authorization. After over 1 month and 3 phone calls I was never called back from them. I called by Insurance Carrier and was told they were never contacted for an authorization. Very sad leaving a patient in pain waiting. Never going back.

I am so grateful to Dr. Schwartz. Five weeks after his preforming arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder, it feels fantastic. He gave me a gift of no pain, and right arm mobility that I have not had for years. I only wish I had him work on my shoulder much sooner. I highly praise his skill, knowledge and attention to my situation.

Three weeks post-Op of my ruptured Tricep Tendon and have 130 Degree's Flexion. It was hopeful to only reach 90 degrees and so far exceeding the Dr.s expectations. The staff made me feel comfortable before surgery because I was anxious. I am so happy I chose Dr. Schwartz.
