Primary Care
Annual visit with disabled son. What can you say about a perfect human being who is your son’s physician. He gets the disabled community totally. He is kind, respectful and I would expect nothing less since he worked with another wonderful doctor, Rachel Wheeler, who retired. They are both outstanding physicians. Parents like me are afraid to take our kids to doctors for fear your child will not be understood but this is far from my experience with these two doctors. It happens to us because we usually have been to the whole range of Boston hospitals so you meet all kinds. He is sensitive to your lifelong commitment to your child. He gives a thorough exam and the patient is put at ease. I hope he stays for a longtime to come. My son loves him. My husband and I love him. David owes his life to Dr Thackrey for getting his colonoscopy son 3 months earlier than anyone else could. He works with other doctors on my son’s care team and they all feel the same way. Oh “he’s is great” lucky us

Fine but lacking
Dr. Thackrey did not give me enough information to make informed decisions. I got much more reassuring and less concerning information from other providers. Additionally his response time and communication was highly lacking. It felt like he just wanted the visits to be over with rather than taking the time to fully explain things to me.

Dr. Thackrey is an all-star! I've visited him several times: once for a physical/check-up, and once for medication request. The physical was fast and detailed. He explained everything he was measuring, how he interpreted the results, and give me some tips for improving my heath (e.g.,, exercising to increase my cholesterol). He was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all my questions. When I followed up looking for medication recommendation, he was as helpful as ever! Can't recommend enough!

Dr. Thackrey has been calm, kind, thorough and extremely helpful/thoughtful during each visit I have had. I feel extremely comfortable with Dr. Thackrey and trust his diagnoses. His staff has also been very accommodating and kind during each visit.
