Really impressed
I'll admit I was pretty nervous, just because I'm not the best talker and you never know what to expect. But Dr. Turk was both extremely easy to talk to and very methodical in how he asked questions and tried to understand what I was saying and experiencing. I appreciate how he frequently made the effort to seek clarification on what I was trying to communicate and keep the conversation on track to find the information he needed to make the best decision in the limited time window we had. He came off as both very professional and knowledgeable, but also gentle and receptive to questions. I was able to talk about some sensitive subjects that I usually wouldnt share with any human being, but I didn't feel shamed or pitied, so it felt ok to be open about that stuff. I left feeling very surprised by how much we were able to discuss. He seems to know his stuff as a prescriber too, and I am onboard with the changes that were made and the reasoning behind them.

Dr. Turk was an amazing psychiatrist for my adolescent son who was struggling, wouldn't open up, and depressed. When his depression lifted due to meds and talk therapy, Dr. Turk diagnosed that he had ADHD. Eric and our family are forever grateful for his care and expertise.

Find someone else, if you can. Two years "post-treatment" and still with trauma.

Run!
Before each appointment I would've much rather get a colonoscopy over the discomfort in the horizon of seeing him A few times he said "I'm not willing to write you (bla)" e.g. I told him (bla) might work but I was having a bad week. I fractured a bone simultaneously with trying a new medication. Of course I'd feel awful if I fractured a bone regardless of meds. I was asking for more time to try the medication for a few more days and give it a chance. There was a terrible medication I took for a few months. I was afraid to tell him it gave me nausea and could barely keep my eyes open. I almost lost my job bec I called in sick. Couldn't handle one more "I'm not willing to write you (a substitute that has worked for years)." One day, I decided to stop it on my own cold turkey. I didn't want him to blame me for the med not working. I saw him because it was a small town and I was on very very low income. Thankfully I'm seeing a humane Dr now, but I'm still recovering from that trauma

I went to Dr. Turk for roughly three years because I could not find a different provider within an hour of my residence. He is the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever met. He argues with you about everything, puts words in your mouth to fit his diagnosis of your condition, tries to throw medication at you and they aren’t effective, blames the patient. I recall a time when he jumped out of his chair and started to pace back and forth and told me he couldn’t help me because I don’t understand his question. He also got angry if I didn’t address him properly when asking a question, which was “Dr. Turk, I don’t understand why…” As soon as the pandemic hit, I was able to find another doctor thanks to telemedicine. He shouldn’t be in this profession and reflects poorly on the psychiatrists that are good at their craft. Patients with mental health conditions need compassionate care, not an unpredictable and unapproachable psychiatrist.

Doctor Turk, it’s one of the best Doctors or The Best I ever had, he was dedicated to help me, I believe I would have not made it if he would not put me in the correct meds. I will always be blessed because Now I am at my best, and always at debt because he did way far then he should for me and my husband, when I was sick. Thank you very much!

The review stating Micheal Turk's only weakness is that he may be "to intellegnet"- I suspect Dr. Turk wrote this- as he wrote to instead of too and spelling is incorrect. I would have reported this physician to the state board if I had been older when I was his patient. His method of practice is EXTREMELY dangerous (increasing my benzo Rx to a dangerously high level) and his treatment would be characterized as negligent

Dr. Turk is the most unprofessional psychiatrist--and MD--that I have ever been to. He constantly interrupts me, and becomes easily agitated and frustrated if you do not answer his questions exactly as he wants you to. He is also super defensive. If I am having trouble with a medication, he is quick to blame me for it not working, rather than take responsibility for what he prescribes. Overall, my experience with Dr. Turk has been traumatic, and done much more harm than good.
